Australia: The Appliance of Science

In Australia it’s summertime. So we took a trip into the city to see the sights. Mother nature had other ideas. We found ourselves in the tailwind of a tropical cyclone and a day long downpour I have never experienced before.

So, we did what all normal human beings do and sought shelter. We ended up in a Science tech facility aimed at children, after all we had my grandsons and granddaughter in tow. Initially there were moans all around, except me – I’m a science geek!

In the end though, we all loved it. It was a marvellous experience and lots of fun experiments we all took part in. The place was teeming with kids dragging parents, and grandparents, to and for at a frantic pace.

There was every conceivable experiments to try, from water to sound, light to air and space featured heavily. I just wish I had been 50 years younger.

We even did our own experiment on how water soaks clothing then dispersed over time…though I’m not sure the staff appreciated the trail of water we left in our wake.
