Agent Spotlight - Ashley

On the Disney Fantasy
Where do you call home? Apex, North Carolina but I’m originally from Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Are you married? Yes. I’ve been married since October 2011.

Any children? Yes. We have a son, named Oliver, born in June 2016. I can't forget my fur-baby, a West Highland white terrier (aka a Westie) named Daisy.

Favorite vacation destination? Walt Disney World of course! :)

Favorite Walt Disney World Resort? This is a tough one since I love so many of them. Since I can’t say just one, I would have to say my two favorites are the Wilderness Lodge and Yacht Club.

Favorite Walt Disney World attraction?
Rock n’ Roller Coaster. There’s something about that launch sequence, with Steve Tyler screaming the count down in my ear that I can’t help but have a huge grin on my face until we take off going 57 mph in 2.8 seconds! Amazing!

Favorite Disney restaurant?
My favorite quick service restaurant is Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom. I love the atmosphere and the hot dogs are my favorite! I also love the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater because of its themeing and it reminds me of childhood trips to Walt Disney World. My favorite signature dining restaurants are Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian and the California Grill at the Contemporary. They have amazing food and offer really unique viewing experiences of Wishes.

Favorite Disney snack? So many favorites, but I would have to say the rice crispy treats! :) They are so simple and yet so delicious. I think it might be the Mickey shape that adds that special something.

Ashley and husband, Wes
Wishes, Fantasmic or IllumiNations? Another tough choice but I would have to say Wishes. That soundtrack and Cinderella’s Castle give it the edge over Fantasmic and IllumiNations.

Favorite Disney Souvenir? I LOVE the Christmas ornaments! Our Christmas tree is completely Disney. Each trip I pick up at least one ornament to remember the trip by and to add to my collection.

Earliest Disney vacation memory? I remember eating breakfast at Chef Mickey's and being so shy around all of the characters. I was the kid who didn't mind seeing them from afar but I didn't really want them coming up to me. I didn't cry or anything but I was too shy to say anything. I also remember staying at the Contemporary and riding the monorail non-stop. I can't go to Walt Disney World now without riding the monorail or my trip doesn't feel complete!

Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland or Walt Disney World? If you had asked me a couple years ago I would have said Walt Disney World without a doubt. Now that I’ve been on a few Disney cruises…Disney Cruise Line is quickly being my new favorite! I never would have thought that I could love anything more than Walt Disney World but Disney Cruise Line is something special.

Disney experience that brings tears to your eyes? I always get teary eyed during Wishes. The whole thing is just so magical. I always get teary eyed when the We Go On song comes on during IllumiNations. It’s such a beautiful song! I normally see Wishes or IllumiNations on the last night of our vacation so it is almost guaranteed for me to come close to shedding some tears!

Where have you traveled aside from Walt Disney World? I’ve been up and down the East Coast, from Massachusetts to Florida. I haven’t seen many of the West Coast or Midwest states but I have been to Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Texas. I’ve been to a few destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Bahamas. By far the most exotic destination I have traveled is Melbourne, Australia. That was truly an amazing trip but it sure was far! Over 32 hours of travel to get there and there was a 14 hour time difference from home.

Favorite TV Show? So many to mention! I am kind of a TV-holic. Some of my favorites include Seinfeld, The Office, Community, Law and Order, and Survivor.
Daisy and Ashley at Castaway Cay

Favorite Movie? Ghostbusters is one of my favorites! I love comedies because I feel like you should go to the movies to have a good laugh.

Favorite Color? Blue. Any shade will do.

Favorite Book? I loved The Hunger Games and Divergent trilogies and The Selection Series. I really love Young Adult, futuristic, dystopian society books.

If you had to pick another job besides being a travel agent, what would you do? I do have a day job as Director of Audiovisual Sales at an audiovisual company along with being an agent at Kingdom Konsultant Travel. My dream though is to retire and then move to Florida to work at Walt Disney World with my husband. I think it would be a fun way to spend retirement!

Let Ashley help your family plan the perfect vacation!
