Portfolio Review: The Voice

In 2017, when I was at NBCU, I was tasked with designing graphics for Toyota's Behind-The-Voice page that lived on The Voice microsite on NBC.com. The Behind-The-Voice page was sponsored by Toyota and would offer Voice viewers custom information about the show, the music, the judges and all the contestants with just a few clicks.

The show colors for that season were gold, black and white, so I chose to play up the black on certain assets and/or play up the gold in other instances. I used circles and colors to tie everything together and make it cohesive. I love the shape of a circle due its movement and what you can do with it as a designer.

Each individual unit was designed to mix-and-match

I designed each individual unit so that they could be mixed-and-matched, as needed. In most cases for the Behind-The-Voice microsite, the word 'Behind' was in a sans-serif font and stood alone. For this season, I chose to design the word 'Behind' as a script and place it behind The Voice logo. I think it makes the lockup look like it belongs and is not just a word on a horizontal line. But that's just me.

The Voice was always a fun brand to work on. I remember walking through stages on the lot every morning, from the parking structures to our offices, and would see where The Voice stage props were made and wheeled to The Voice stage. It was always so much fun to see huge props you walked by in the morning, on the show that evening.
