PROJECT: Mini Treat Bag and CYCI 126

It’s Sunday and I have a fun, Mini Treat Bag created for this weeks Can You Case It? Challenge Blog!   Come on over and check out the Challenge as we showcase our favorite dies.  The Design Team rocked it with their samples… Oh, we also have some new Design Team Members.  The challenge starts today and ends on Friday, July 1st @ Noon PST.

Can You Case It? Die Challenge

 On the Road

This last week has been totally crazy!  It was the week just before we head off on vacation with SOOO much to do and not enough time type of week.  A big shout out to our good friend, Deirdre, for taking my son with her family to Barnes & Noble for story time.

  • New Tires on the Acadia – check!
  • Wheel Alignment – check!
  • Pick up medications – check!
  • Try to finish stamp projects… I guess I’m bringing some stamping supplies on the road!

By the time you read this, I’ll be on the 2nd half of our road trip to Minneapolis from North Carolina with a quick one-day stopover at my parents home before we head to the Black Hills.  We hope the trip goes smoothly.  I am so ready for a fun, relaxing vacation!

Visiting Mount Rushmore has been one of my husbands dreams so we’ve really been looking forward to this vacation.  I’m excited for my husband and son to experience Mount Rushmore along with all the sights and fun activities in the area.

Why? Because I have amazing childhood memories and now I’m making new memories with my family. Plans include a stop in Mitchell, SD to visit the Corn Palace then on to Wall, SD for Wall Drug before making it to our final destination.  I’ve also scheduled a Chuckwagon Cowboy Show and an ATV/UTV tour.   In addition, there are the must see attractions!  I can’t wait to visit Mount Rushmore, Bear Country USA, Crazy Horse memorial and hopefully seeing lots of Buffalo.

Mini Treat Bag

Now… Back on track!  You are probably wondering what my family vacation has to do with this weeks CYCI? Die Challenge.

This week I created a cute bag using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  These dies are great for creating quick, cute and easy bags that are perfect for sharing a treat or two with someone special.  Because I love the Mini Treat Bag Thinly so much, I had to create two bags that are just slightly different.  These bags will definitely bring some joy to someone… I just need to decide what is going to go inside th cute bags.

The Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper is the starting point for both Mini Treat Bags.  I used the Melon Mambo bag as the feature based on the Can You Case It? Die Challenge.  The Mini Treat Bag is really easy to use and included with the die are two great greetings dies along with a heart, star and a few other accent pieces.  I’ve used both the Heart stamped with the coordinating You’re So Sweet Stamp Set then used the Mini Treat Bag Heart Die.  The banner is Basic Black with a piece of doily added for a feminine touch along with some Black Metallic Thread then the “For You” die cut from Melon Mambo card stock.

Mini Treat Bag For You Project Recipe:

  • Cut the two bag pieces using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die.  Attach the pieces using the Tear & Tape Adhesive.
  • Stamp the heart from the You’re So Sweet Stamp Set with Melon Mambo Ink.  Cut out with the heart die.
  • Cut a 3/4″ strip of Basic Black and use the Banner Triple Punch to create the banner.
  • Use Fast Fuse on the back of the Basic Black Banner and attach a small piece of the doily.
  • Attach the banner to the Mini Treat Bag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Use Fast Fuse and wind Basic Black Metallic thread on the back of the heart.
  • Carefully add more Fast Fuse to the back of the heart (or use glue dots) and attach the heart to the banner.
  • Finally, attach the “For You” by cutting small pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals and place them on the back of the greeting then attach to the banner while overlapping the heart.

Come play along!
