Iraq and Sweden $76.1 Million Trade at Risk Over Burning of Quran


Despite the volumes of trade exchange that passed between Iraq and Sweden in the past year, the relationship between the two countries is fraught with tension. Data from Trade Map shows that a total of $76.1 million dollars was exchanged, with Iraq’s exports making up only 0.5%. While Iraq exported 31 commodities worth $362,640 dollars, mostly cereals and vegetable and fruit preparations,

Sweden exported 47 commodities worth $75.75 million Dollars, primarily pharmaceutical products, chemical products, and machinery. Despite this mutual economic benefit, these figures seem unlikely to lessen the growing divide between the nations.
