Flying taxis, once a sci-fi concept, are set to become a reality in the United States, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and India. Archer Aviation, a major operator in the field, expects regulatory approval for its four-passenger electric-powered vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the Midnight, as soon as 2025. UAE flights are expected to begin in 2026, with initial routes connecting Dubai airport to the Palm development and Abu Dhabi airport to the Corniche. Archer also plans to launch flights in major Indian cities. The company aims to scale up operations and reduce prices over time, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to helicopters.
