Hackers exploit zero-day to compromise tens of thousands of Cisco devices

Hackers have exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Cisco's networking software, compromising tens of thousands of devices. The vulnerability, found in the IOS XE web administration interface, allows attackers to gain full control of the compromised device and carry out unauthorized activity on the victim's network. The compromised devices include enterprise switches, wireless controllers, access points, and industrial routers. So far, nearly 42,000 compromised Cisco Devices have been observed, primarily in the United States. Cisco has not yet released a patch for the vulnerability and is urging customers to disable the HTTP Server feature on their internet-facing systems.
