Goofy, the popular cartoon Character, is often mistaken for a cow, but he is actually a dog-like character with human-like features. He was created by Disney animator Art Babbitt and first appeared in 1932. Goofy's original voice actor, Pinto Colvig, based the character on a stage character he had created called "The Oregon Appleknocker." Despite Walt Disney's initial dislike for Goofy, he became a beloved character and starred in various animated adventures. In the 1940s, Goofy's presentation changed, with less dialogue and more slapstick comedy.
