Iranian women's rights activist Narges Mohammadi has been awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize. Mohammadi, who is currently jailed, was chosen by a panel of experts in Norway from over 350 nominations. The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, while other Nobel prizes are announced in Stockholm. The committee received 351 nominations this year, and previous winners include Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama.
