Ewan McGregor is addressing recent reports on the status of his Obi-Wan Kenobi Series for Disney +, and according to him, the force is still with the project.

On Thursday, several media reported that the series had stalled amid attempts to remove the script. The same day, at an event in Los Angeles for his new movie Birds of Prey, McGregor said the series was “slightly delayed” in his script, but the project was suspended.

“It is not put on hold; it just delays a bit. The scripts are great, and they want them to be better,” he told the Associated Press. “So we delay it, but it is not … It seems very dramatic, online, there are all kinds of things online about it, but it only goes back a bit. We are still filming it, I think it will still air when it was supposed to I should be, and I’m really excited about that. It would be fun to play again.

He said in a separate interview with IGN: “Now that Episode IX has come out and everyone in Lucasfilm has more time to write, they felt they needed more time to write the episode. Now I have read up to 80, 90 percent of what I’ve written, and it’s cool. Instead of filming in August, they just want to start filming in January, that’s all. Ada is nothing dramatic. ”

The Obi-Wan series was confirmed at the D23 Expo in August.

The program will feature McGregor in the role that last changed in Revenge of the Sith of 2005 (The Force Awakens of 2015 and The Rise of Skywalker of 2019). No release date has been set for the premiere of the show.

This is the latest Star Wars live-action series promoted by Disney +, which appeared in the acclaimed The Mandalorian and included a title in the works with Diego Luna in which he played his rogue role as Cassian Andor.
