Netflix “Uncut Gems”: Ending Explained Details Inside

The uncut gem ending and its relationship established in real-life explained inside.

It may have been snubbed at the Oscars, but Uncut Gems is still worth the stress it generates.

The thriller launched internationally by Netflix and A24 in the US. In the USA, Adam Sandler stars as the jeweler of New York City Howard Ratner, a player who tries a series of high-risk bets in search of a great victory.

It is a convincing journey full of anxiety and, although it is not based on a true story, it has a Metalink with real-life events that all reach a critical point at its deep end.

We’re about to get into the spoiler, so if you haven’t seen the uncut gems yet, don’t read it.

When we first meet Howard Ratner (after his colonoscopy, of course), things seem to be on the rise. He gets his hands on a rare black opal, the Uncut gem holder, who believes it will sell for $ 1 million at an upcoming auction,

But before that happens, Ratner gives Opel to basketball player Kevin Garnett (who plays a goal role), who he thinks will bring him good luck, keeping Garnett’s championship ring as a guarantee.

Being a player (and $ 100k in debt), Ratner quickly turned that ring to make an ambitious bet on Garnett’s game that night. It is worth it and seems ready for a high payment.

Unfortunately for Ratner, Lone Shark Arno (Eric Bogosian), who is also his brother-in-law, suspended that bet because Ratner owes him $ 100,000. (The fact that Rattner has little money is offensive to Kingpin Arno).

That’s right because that auction comes, remember. Ratner also rejected Garnett’s cash offer to support Opel, and it is believed that Opel received at least $ 1 million in an auction.

However, when he arrives, he is told that the value of Opel is close to $ 200,000, and during the auction, Rattner tries to offer his father-in-law against Garnett, so that the price fails.

Rattner has a happy ending as Garnett again offers $ 175,000 for opal,

His father-in-law wins the auction, so Ratner pays him and remains Opel, but Arno still owes $ 100,000. However, Rattner has a happy ending as Garnett again offers $ 175,000 for opal, which he accepts.

But Ratner can’t help it. Assuming Opel wishes Garnet good luck, he goes to a casino to give his girlfriend Julia (Julia Fox) $ 175,000 to place a big bet on Garnet’s game that night.

When Arno and his minions Phil (Keith Williams Richards) and Nico (Tommy Komick) arrive to collect their money from Ratner’s jewelry, he locks them up in the store’s security lobby during the game.

It should be noted that Ratner’s bets are canceled, and he earns more than $ 1 million, but Ratner’s happiness is short-lived, since Phil’s boss kills him, before his boss, Arno, is also destroyed. Ratner’s bet was at the bottom. Come on

We see Julia collect money from the casino and leave in an unknown future. Thanks to a call from Ratner’s worried wife, Dina (Idina Menzel), we hear police sirens near the store when the camera turns into Ratner’s gunshot wound.

It is possible that non-basketball fans do not feel that the games Garnett presented during the movie were real-life games.

Set in 2012, the film includes two NBA playoff games that year: Game 3 and Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers.

As we see in Uncut Gems, Garnett helped the Celtics win both the game and the general series, although they lost the final against the Miami Heat.

So, the game you’re watching in the movie happened, and it was a challenge for directors, Josh and Benny Safi, to find the right match.

“All we needed was a specific type of game, which represented a ‘game of gems,” Benny told The Ringer, referring to Garnett being such a brilliant game that it was his (potentially) magical one. Opal will inspire him.

An additional level of difficulty comes from the fact that the film also represents The Weeknd as itself. But we would look at those doubles playoff games, and he ended up allowing. A series of playoffs seemed so appropriate to be the center of the movie. ”

Uncut Gems is in theaters now and will be released worldwide on Netflix, except in the United States, on January 31.
