Mayor Suggests That Jersey Shooters May Have Wanted To Target 50 Children In A School

The Mayor of Jersey City suggested on Friday said that the anti-semitic pair that shoot three people at a Jewish market in Jersy City this week may have actually desired to shoot up a religious school next door that had dozens of kids inside.

Steven Fulop, the mayor of the City tweet in a series of tweets, explained how the attack that unfolded on Tuesday could have been far more serious. The incident has left six people dead in total which are four victims which include  Jersey City Detective Joseph Seals, and the two suspects, David Anderson, 47-year-old, and Francine Graham, 50-year-old.

Fulop wrote in a tweet on Friday as “My opinion is that as more info comes out it’ll become increasingly clear that the target was the 50 children at the Yeshiva attached to that store. We will never know 100% but the doorway to the yeshiva was 3 feet away + it seems he goes in that direction 1st.”

He further added that “This is a terrible tragedy but even in so much darkness with lives lost there is some hope in that without question had the bravery and quick response of the police not caught them in the store this could have been much much worse.”

“Every segment of the society is free to think when a tragedy like this occurs,” Special Agent in Charge Gregory W. Ehrie said in a statement. “The Federal Bureau of Investigation seeks out facts and methodically reviews a proof before drawing any conclusions.”

The two suspects were armed with a variety of weapons. The weapons include a shotgun and an AR-15-style rifle. A pipe bomb was also discovered in a stolen U-Haul Van.

James Shea, the Director of Public Safety said on Friday that “Everything about the attack is consistent, that they did not mean to harm only four people — that they had a larger purpose. Based on what we understand now, the number of weapons, the amount of ammo, the point that they had explosive devices — we would have to think they intended to do a lot more harm than we let them do.”

New Jersey officials have said that Anderson and Graham seem to have worked alone even though they had shown interest in the Black Hebrew Israelites, a fringe religious group that often disparages whites and Jews.

Authorities said that the attackers killed three people in the market, in addition to the police deputy at a cemetery approximately a mile away, before dying in an hourslong gunbattle with police on Tuesday afternoon.
