Court dismisses Dakolo’s R*pe Suit against COZA Pastor, Fines Her N1m

A High Court sitting in Abuja,the Federal Capital Territory has on Thursday the 14th of November threw out the case filed by Mrs. Dakolo, wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Mrs. Bukola had filed a suit against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo whence she claimed among other things that the flamboyant pastor forcefully had carnal knowledge of her in Ilorin, Kwara State, 20 years back.

But in response to the accusations, Pastor Fatoyinbo denied the allegations, resigned from the pulpit amid wave of protests against him by sections of the populace.

Fatoyinbo filed the court with an objection and affidavit stating that the allegations against him were false and doctored to embarrass his personality.

The COZA Pastor, also stated that from the start of the controversy, Mrs. Dakolo sought and gained the attention of the media and the press and also brought the civil action when the Police’s investigation was ongoing.

However, Justice A. Musa in her ruling,said that “the matter amounted to injustice, abuse of judicial process ad the case was empty and purely sentimental, and that the case was aimed more at cruelty than obtaining justice”.

She also awarded a fine of 1 million naira against Mrs. Dakolo , adding that the fee should be 10 times more because she wasted the court’s time.
