How the club’s personnel crisis could see a Leeds starlet make Premier League history vs Arsenal
Leeds United talent Archie Gray will make Premier League History this evening, if he manages to make it off the bench in the club’s meeting with Arsenal.
Elland Road showdown
The solitary fixture of the day in the English top-flight is of course set to play out shortly.
Owing to a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases, a hefty six of this weekend’s scheduled matchups have been postponed, understandably, on the part of the Premier League powers that be.
Leeds’ meeting with Arsenal, scheduled to get underway at Elland Road in short order, however, as things stand, is primed to go ahead.
Gray to make history?
If the club’s matchday squad to have been unveiled a short time ago is anything to go by, though, then perhaps those of a Leeds persuasion would rather have seen their meeting with Arsenal called off.
This comes amid nothing short of a personnel emergency in west Yorkshire.
With the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford, Junior Firpo and Pascal Struijk unavailable, Marcelo Bielsa was forced to call upon a rake of young talents from the club’s academy to face Arsenal:

And, as alluded to above, if one such starlet manages to make it off the bench at some point this evening, he will set a Premier League record in the process.
The player in question? Archie Gray.
Attacker Gray, at just 15 years of age, would become the youngest player to ever step foot on the pitch in the Premier League, if handed an unexpected bow against Arsenal:
