Cristiano Ronaldo has been sent off in his first Champions League game for Juventus after an apparent clash with Jeison Murillo, which means the star will miss a return to Old Trafford.

Just 29 minutes into the Champions League Group H opener against Valencia, Ronaldo appeared to make contact with Murillo’s head, away from the ball.


The red card was shown for the incident, leaving Ronaldo visibily distraught as he was sent for an early shower.

That also means Ronaldo will miss the next two games – Juventus’ home date against Young Boys and their trip to Old Trafford to face his former club Manchester United.
