First Blooms of Spring

Perennial bloom succession, the first flowers of spring!

If you’ve read some of my other articles on flowers and gardening, you’ll know how much I truly enjoy this activity. It connects me with nature in the city. I love living in the city for so many reasons but don’t think we should never be without greenery. Unfortunately, not all cities were built with green space in mind and sometimes greed and land grabbing hurts the community. Let’s not focus on the negative, let’s create beauty and solutions, nurturing and cherishing our own spaces. Taking our own actions. No need to wait for a bureaucrat to do it for us. Let’s care and nurture plants in the city.

Originally I published an article on bloom succession that covers all seasons so people can plan for endless Blooms. I wanted to get a little more detailed and create a series that is more visually oriented based on the original article in case you are learning about gardening and/or just want a handy reference guide where you can see what the flower looks like, or one of the varieties. So we begin with the early blooms of spring and next in the series will be mid-spring and late spring blooms followed by an article on summer blooms and ending with the fall.
