Stop Gout Attacks – FAST!

Gout is a type of arthritis characterized by a disturbed level of Uric Acid in the body. When uric acid level increases in the body sharp crystals may form in the big toe or joints; this causes swelling and joint pain. Gout can be caused by high blood pressure, genetic predisposition, kidney problems, drinking alcohol, and eating food rich in uric acid. Enzymes deficiency (those enzymes which are involved in the metabolism of purine) may lead to overproduction of uric acid. Elevated activity of phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate synthetase is another cause of gout attack. Foods that are rich in purine are the key element of increasing level of uric acid precursors in the body. Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are other elements causing gout and hyperuricemia.

Stopping Gout Attacks (Medical Options)

Gouty arthritis can be prevented or treated by several drugs including corticosteroids, colchicine, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Colchicine is not used or indicated to treat gout but is used to control or stop Gout Attacks. Colchicine reduces the inflammation caused by uric acid crystals in big toea and joints. And it also helps to reduce pain during gout. Low-dose colchicine can be used for stopping acute gout attacks. Pro-inflammatory pathways are downregulated by colchicine and the level of anti-inflammatory mediators increases with the help of colchicine. In this way, the gout attacks can be stopped.

NSAIDs are another drug used to stop gout attacks. These help by reducing pain and inflammation due to gout. Aspirin, celecoxib, ibuprofen are commonly used treatments for gout. Ibuprofen 800mg is commonly used during an acute gout attack. NSAIDs can also be used along with uric acid synthesis inhibitors for preventing the development of acute gout. NSAIDs reduce the storage of uric acid in the tissues when used along with xanthine oxidase inhibitors.

Corticosteroids can be used against gout attacks. Oral corticosteroids (prednisone or prednisolone) can be used to stop gout attacks. Corticosteroids are used as an alternative for patients who are unable to tolerate NSAIDs and colchicine.

Intraocular corticosteroids are also used as they have fewer side effects.

Urate lowering therapy can also be used to lower the uric acid level in the body in order to prevent or stop gouty attacks. This therapy should be continued until the signs and symptoms of gout disappear.

2021 Update: A Natural Effective Solution to Stop Gout in 15 Mins?
