A man has been arrested following the terror attack in Barcelona.
Prior to the arrest, police identified Driss Oukabir as one of the suspects thought to be involved in the attack.
They released an image of him, while the civil guard said he hired the van used to mow down people in the city centre.
At least 13 people have died and 32 are injured after the van mounted the pavement and drove into people in Las Ramblas.
The driver of the van reportedly fled the scene, and two armed men have been holed up in a nearby Restaurant, Luna de Estambul, with gunfire being heard nearby.
A video from the scene appeared to show police arresting a man.
It is not clear if the men who entered the restaurant with guns were inside the van at the time of the attack.
The incident is being treated as a terror attack by Spanish authorities.
A large area of the city centre has been cordoned off by police, with people urged to stay inside and metro stations closed down.
Will Ako, 26, from London, was eating in a restaurant called Taller De Tapas with his family when they heard a disturbance.
He said: ‘We had just finished eating and were about to leave when we heard a commotion and the patrons in the restaurant rushing from their seats.
‘I then saw people running to the east of the restaurant and I saw a couple of people about 30 yards down the road crouching around what looked like someone on the ground and they were calling for assistance.
‘Within a couple of minutes, police started to arrive and they were running west of the restaurant and some were telling us to stay inside.
‘Soon after, loads of cars, bikes and ambulances arrived and then the armed police.’
