The post Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s Luxe Evening Skincare Is *Perfect* For Blemish-Prone Skin appeared first on Peaceful Dumpling.

I’ve been gobbling up Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s beauty website Rose Inc. since its launch. The aesthetics and tips are just next level—I feel pampered and inspired just scrolling through! (Seriously, if you’re a beauty nerd, check it out!)

Recently, Rosie shared her evening skincare routine, which I stumbled on after a particularly balmy day in south Texas, and I was really feeling the techniques and types of products she uses. Her routine is all about feeling refreshed after a day of wearing makeup while infusing her skin with lightly hydrating, illuminating formulas.

Rosie explains that her skin tends to be oily, and she often experiences acne outbreaks. In addition to cutting out eggs and dairy (!), she avoids topical products that are on the heavy side to help manage her skin. If your skin is prone to congestion, this routine maybe perfect for you, especially as the weather warms up.

I definitely plan to try something similar at day’s end to remove makeup and city grime while treating myself to a little mist here and a little serum there. Here’s how you can, too! (We’ve substituted vegan and cruelty-free options where needed.)

Remove your eye makeup in two stages (if needed).

First, Rosie reaches for micellar water to remove the majority of her eye makeup. She soaks a cotton pad in micellar water then presses and wiggles the pad against her eyelid and lashes. After it’s had a chance to thoroughly soak through her makeup, she gently sweeps the pad across her eye. Rosie explains that micellar water is one of the few eye-makeup removers that doesn’t irritate the sensitive skin around her eyes, which she explains is prone to puffiness.

If she’s been wearing a stubborn mascara, she uses Kopari coconut balm to nix the rest. An oil-based cleanser (including straight oils) can help dissolve makeup without being too harsh on your skin.

Spend a moment relaxing with a warm cloth.

Rosie soaks a face cloth in warm water and presses it against her skin, sharing that it’s one of her favorite parts of the day. This technique is also an effective way to give your makeup a chance to loosen and break up before following with a cleanser.

Massage skin with a gentle cleanser.

Apply a gentle cream cleanser to skin, using your fingers to massage your face and erase the day’s makeup. If your cleanser leaves your skin feeling tight and stripped, opt for one designed for sensitive, dry skin.

Acure Organics Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream

Hydrate and cool skin with rose water.

As a final stage in her cleansing routine, Rosie soaks a cotton pad in rose water and runs it along her face. This serves two purposes—it’s a gentle way to remove any last bit of makeup (check your pad!) while also hydrating and cooling your skin after all the stimulation that accompanies cleansing.

Apply a vitamin C serum.

Excellent for brightening skin, fighting wrinkles, and combatting acne, vitamin C is incredibly effective for a slew of complexion concerns. Rosie enjoys using vitamin C in serum form because it quickly absorbs while providing a light layer of hydration.

Don’t forget your eyes!

Rosie swears by a Bareminerals eye gel, which she gently pats around her eye area using her ring finger (the gentlest finger!).

Finally, finish things off with a hydrating mist.

I was a bit surprised that Rosie didn’t use a facial lotion or oil as a final step in her routine, but given that her skin is naturally oily, she can get by without one! Instead, she mists herself with Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence, which contains white willow bark (a.k.a natural salicylic acid–an acne fighter!), gotu kola, and dual-weight hyaluronic acid (skin quencher). The final result is dewy, luminous, cleansed, and refreshed skin.

Have you tried any of the products of techniques Rosie swears by?
