Fred Seul is a Copenhagen-based musician and social activist who tells a narrative through his unique sound and compelling lyrics. Seul is trying to break down the taboo of everyday life through topics in his music such as fake news, drugs and self-respect. In doing this he would like to change the direction of commercialised pop music and convey raw and honest real-life, relatable stories. Seul's roots are in folk music but he utilizes a sonic skin and an indie feel. His debut single 'Lights Will Come (After Long)' is a true story about how Fred Seul saved the life of a friend who had taken an unknown drug which resulted in an overdose. Seul wrote the song in order to advise people to be careful and pay attention to common sense.

I put him in my car on the passenger seat and wrapped him in a blanket in the back seat. He was homeless at the time so I knew he was not able to go "home" so I took care of him and made sure that he was awake. After a couple of hours of struggles, he woke up and came a bit to his senses. The experience made an impact, for sure and I like that the music can turn my melancholic memories into an expression of art.

I know it’s an old cliché to tell you to stay away from drugs, and I don’t support drug use. But if you do drugs, do your research, don’t take something you don’t know what is and most importantly use your common sense. In the end, you make the difference."

'Lights Will Come (After Long)' really takes you on a journey. It is rootsy, gritty and dripping with no-filter emotion coming through Seul's baritone vocals. It also experiments with electronic, folk and rock accents with rich orchestration and melancholy production. This debut will certainly leave its mark on you.
