Exclusive Flute Feast This November At Château la Chenevière In Normandy

A stunning Norman chateau of the eighteenth century, La Chenevière, a former mansion and farm is now a 5-star hotel in Normandy. From 5th - 11th November, La Chenevière will be paying tribute to classical music by hosting a Flute Feast, the first event of this kind at this magnificent venue.
The Flute Feast combines world-class flute playing and learning opportunities with the best in gourmet dining, fine wine, history and culture. At La Chenevière, Flute Feast is an intensive week-long course with the trio Remi-Nivard:
- Paul Edmund-Davies (previously Principal Flute of the London Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years and has played on hundreds of Hollywood blockbuster soundtracks, including Star Wars and Harry Potter)
- Elisabeth Hobbs (performed in the leading symphony and opera orchestras of Australia and the UK)
- John Alley (previously Principal Keyboard player of the London Symphony Orchestra).
NASA Astronaut Dr Cady Coleman, who has taken part in space shuttle missions and who has spent six months on the International Space Station, will also be joining the special event as a flute player. Cady will share stories of her life in space during a special "space evening".
The course will combine fine dining and Champagne with world-class flute tuition and musical experiences. Flute Feasts are renowned for their warm, supportive and friendly atmosphere, and it doesn't matter if you are a novice or a professional flute player.
On November 10th, the last evening of the course, there will be a public concert in the magnificent renaissance Salles des Tribunales next to the historical Bayeux Cathedral. This concert will raise funds for the purchase of significant historical artworks by the Musée d’Art et Histoire Baron Gérard and will be followed by a gala dinner at our fine dining restaurant Le Botaniste (which was recently awarded top 20 best foodie hotels in France by The Times).
La Chenevière is situated just a few miles from the D-Day landing beaches of northern France, and the course will include visits to the fascinating historical sites of Omaha Beach and Arromanches. You will also have the opportunity to visit the nearby medieval city of Bayeux with its awe-inspiring 11th century cathedral and famed Bayeux Tapestry.
The course fee is £2300 for a single participant, and £3800 for a couple. For further information please download the Flute Feast brochure is available here, or to register please visit here.
The hotel is also open for other classical music lovers who wish to participate as spectators and enjoy the atmosphere, fine dining and music. Rooms are available from 195€ to 360€ per night.
