Gabrielle Aplin has just released her brand new single 'Waking Up Slow' which is the first Song to be showcased from her forthcoming EP 'Avalon'. The song was produced by Lostboy and is super upbeat being almost celebratory in its theme and style. The official lyric video features pop art-style cartoon drawings with sunflowers that really emit that summer vibe. Aplin’s voice, as lightly husky as it always is has a feel-good vibe to it, perfect for the summer months.
Aplin has spoken about the song, saying “Waking Up Slow’ is a super positive song! It's about that euphoric "aha!" moment after feeling perhaps misplaced, or stagnant. It's about that moment where you decide to just let go, letting what will be, be and choosing to be present.”
First starting out her fabulous career by making YouTube videos and posting covers of songs, Gabrielle Aplin has just kept growing in recent years. She managed to top the UK charts in 2012 with her beautiful cover of the Frankie Goes To Hollywood Christmas song 'The Power of Love'. Her album 'English Rain' was then given Gold certification in 2013 and this featured some of her most well-known hits such as 'Please Don’t Say You Love Me', 'Home', 'Panic Cord', and 'Salvation'.
Gabrielle Aplin is a hard working artist who does extensive international touring and has managed to add another three #1 songs worldwide to her resume! Aplin’s second album, 'Light Up The Dark' in 2015 had huge worldwide acclaim and her EP released in 2016 called 'Miss You' has already racked up nearly 40 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music.
'Waking Up Slow' is just the first from a few songs to be released from the EP 'Avalon' and is set to be extremely unique and different to what Aplin usually styles herself with.
