So, you used to feel put together: hair done, clothes matching, full Makeup on the daily. But you’re a mom now. “Who’s got time for that,” you’re thinking. You do, believe it or not. Because five minutes of doing something for yourself in the morning will allow you to still feel like you and continue to be be the awesome new mom you are. As a Makeup Artist, people assume it takes Jenn Dugan, of The Makeup Curio, an hour every day to do her makeup. As a business owner, there are days where she says “who’s got time for that?” So for her daily, fresh faced, five minute look, here are her go to products for a five minute, full makeup session: New Mom Style.
- BB Cream
Several years ago BB cream came on the market. Most brands have a trifecta of benefits in this tinted moisturizer: it color corrects, it acts as a primer and it has SPF. This means BB Cream creates a smooth, even tone, in an instant. Her fave: Smash Box, $39.
2. Smudge Fixx
Created by a Mom who was constantly on the go, smudge around the eyes became a problem to clean up while shuffling around kids and running the house. SmudgeFixx is a compact concealer pack that includes mini makeup remover pads, a mirror, and concealer. SmudgeFixx, $28.
3. Defined Brows
Having the right shaped brow will open up your whole face and instantly make you look put together. While pencil is the easiest to apply, a brow powder will look the softest and often the most natural. I like Graftobian’s HD Brow Powder, $13.
Following in line with the eyes being the window to the soul, a swipe of mascara is the easiest way to make you feel transformed. Try Mary Kay’s Lash Love, $15, or Benefit’s Roller Lash $24.
5. A Little Contour
Contouring is about accentuating your features, not changing the shape of your entire face. A subtle stroke under your cheek bones and a swipe around the forehead is a quick start. Add some highlight on top of the cheek bones and on the brow bones. BH Contour Palette, $20.
