Vaginal Problems to Watch Out For!

Vaginal Problems To Watch Out For!

Just like any part of your body, the general Vaginal area is also prone to different kinds of problems. The problems can take place within the organ or on the outside area. There are a lot of factors to consider when vaginal problems come out. It could be the lack of vaginal care, imbalance of hormones, aging, and even the type of diet that you have.

Here are some of the most common vaginal problems that you should know.

Yeast Infection

Yeast infection is one of the most common vaginal problems and more than half of the women population have actually experienced it. Its symptoms are itching, burning sensations, and pain during a sexual intercourse. The discharge is also different from the clear one. Yeast infection excretes white thick discharge that is lumpy like a cottage cheese.

Most anti-fungal drugs are effective in dealing with a yeast infection. But you can also ask for your doctor’s advice on which one is a match for you.

Lumps and Bumps

Lumps and bumps in the vulva area can cause outright panic, especially if it is the first time you encounter it. But they are actually not a big issue. If it is painful and swollen, it might just be a Bartholin’s cyst – a clogged gland outside the vagina. You can just leave them alone or use warm soaks. If it persists, it might require antibiotics.

Vaginal Dryness

Vaginal dryness is often caused by aging, birth control medications, breastfeeding, hormonal changes (which can also be an effect of aging). When you age, your body starts to go down from its prime condition. This includes the vagina’s ability to retain moisture and/or lubricate itself. The result? Discomfort, itching, and painful sexual intercourse due to the lack of moisture.

It is a good thing that vaginal dryness can be easily remedied with vaginal serums. Look for a  vaginal serum with natural extracts like Pueraria Mirifica, for better relief.

Bacterial Vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis is a mild infection in the vaginal area due to the increase of bad bacteria. Believe it or not, your vagina is actually a nest for bacteria – both good ones and bad ones. But the good ones naturally fight off the bad ones to maintain a healthy balance inside. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by the imbalance rampant growth of bad bacteria which typically happens after douching or if you have new or multiple sex partners.

Though bacterial vaginosis eventually goes off on its own, it is still advisable to have it checked. It can lead to serious problems if left untreated.

Blood

Blood is one thing that can look serious whenever it comes out of the body, except during the days of the menstrual period. So what if you see blood on your underwear on a normal day? First of all, don’t panic. Understand that spotting can happen during your ovulation days. It can also be caused by the birth control method that you are using.

But if the blood spots come out after an intercourse, there can be three reasons for it. One, it could be the cause of vaginal dryness. Second, there is an infection inside the vagina. The last and the most alarming, cervical cancer. So if you aren’t sure about what causes the spotting, check it with your doctor as soon as possible.
