Fruits and veggies are rich in vitamins and minerals that are important for good health. They contain nutrients from plants, called phytonutrients.

Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables protects the body from various diseases including high blood pressure, eyesight problems, heart disease, and some cancers. They provide antioxidants that mop up disease-causing free radicals from our bodies. Fruits also contain fiber that helps to keep the digestive system healthy.

Fruits and vegetables are the most convenient for any diet. They are readily available and you can grow them in the backyard or in containers on a balcony. There are SO many different ways you can use them:

  • They can be eaten raw or incorporated into many different cooked dishes.

  • They are also convenient to carry when you need to use them as a meal replacement, such as when you are traveling or working.
  • They are very low on calories so consuming them in large quantities does not increase the risk of weight gain. In fact making them a major part of the diet does help in losing weight.
