UHNW & HNW Women: The Empress’ New Clothes

UHNW & HNW Women
The Empress’ New Clothes

Living in affluence does not mean following or obeying the mainstream tribe of affluence. It means embracing YOUR difference & dealing with the calling of abundance from day to day.

Join today’s conversation on why you as an Affluent Professional Woman, High Net Worth (HNW) or Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Woman, should look carefully at your situation of taking on a new identity of becoming an Empress in new clothes and take the most appropriate actions that you feel you would be able to handle. Time is of the essence for you to get to grips with your fear and really live a free life. I understand that you want to achieve as much as possible as the years fly by. You are getting older and you feel there is still so much that you want to do before your time is up.

Mingled into this are the expectations of others. The others who are YOUR life partner (husband, fiance, boyfriend, gentleman friend, wife, girlfriend, lover, lady friend). The others who are YOUR family (near and distant, bloodline and step family). You know who the others are.

You are an UHNW, HNW or affluent professional woman and you have experienced a myriad of life trials and tribulations. You have been through levels of hate, stress, anger, self loathing, emotional upheaval, tears and tantrums. You have also danced along your life journey in the giddiness of joy, happiness, affection, glee, love, elation and adoration.

So, you are what you are and that is an affluent woman. You are shy or an introvert. Perhaps with low level autism. You live in an affluent home. You live an affluent lifestyle. You have weight fluctuations. You have dietary impulses. You have relationship quandaries. Yet presently you are dealing with an identity situation that is causing you some concern. Perhaps you are thinking about your worth in your relationship. Perhaps you are thinking about your belief in your own self. You feel out of sorts somehow within your affluence. So today this is where you find yourself. Considering a change. Considering a release from something that is not sitting well within your existence as an affluent woman.

Whom amongst you enjoys wearing kaftans? Hands up. Let me see a show of your hands. OK. So that is quite a lot of you. Me! I adore wearing Kaftans. I wear them everyday. I have kaftans that I sleep in. I have kaftans that I relax in. I have kaftans that I work in. Yes, I have the obligatory suits and formal wear for business and travel, but in the privacy of my residence I have a preference for wearing kaftans. Not only are they feminine, flowing and allowing of full movement, but they are non-judgemental to the expansion of anyone’s waistline/body size at times of indulgence, or health issues.

THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES

Do you remember the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen? How the story started off about an Emperor who thought only of himself and not others. That he was conned by two travelling swindlers who claimed that they could create for the Emperor the most magical of fabrics with which to make spectacular clothes for him and that it was their duty as loyal citizens to provide this special cloth for the Emperor. Where the swindlers promised that the special cloths had a wonderful way of becoming invisible to anyone who was unfit for his office, or who was unusually stupid.

"Those would be just the clothes for me," thought the Emperor. "If I wore them I would be able to discover which men in my empire are unfit for their posts. I could tell the wise men from the fools. Yes, I certainly must get some clothing woven for me right away." He paid the two swindlers a large sum of money to start work at once.

Instead of getting to work on creating the luxurious, magical fabrics, the swindlers pocketed the money and pretended to be producing cloth from their looms.

When the time arrived for the Emperor to ‘see’ his special clothes and to ‘wear’ them, the swindlers performed all the actions of carrying the clothes and of fitting the clothes to the Emperor for a special procession through the royal town. A procession where all the towns folk had heard about the magical cloth and wanted to see it.

It was only when the procession was passing by a child, that the child had called out exactly what was seen. A naked Emperor. The child was looked upon by the towns folk as being impudent and was being hushed by its father. Unfortunately the words of the child had already been heard by many others and the whispers of what the child had said was travelling through the crowds that had gathered. So much so that the towns folk agreed with the statement of the child. That they then began to laugh at the Emperor. Undeterred the Emperor continued with the procession in its totality with his head held high, regardless of the fact that he was completely naked.

DOES IT MATTER WHAT PEOPLE CALL YOU?

There is a saying in British society that states “Some people have more money than sense.” It is often directed at individuals who have a comfortable disposable income and choose to spend it on something that others view as excessive for a service or product.

Conversely there are people who have a high disposable income and buy the cheaper end of products or services. The saying there is that such a person is a ‘skin flint’, or a ‘penny pincher’. Or people would use the term ‘Scrooge’ on you for being so miserly.

So you have a high income and you are either called a fool for spending your money on something deemed as extravagant by others. Or you are called ‘Scrooge’ for rarely spending any money and being a penny pincher. Do you really care what other people are calling you? Are you really swayed by the opinions of others who want to have a say in how you spend YOUR money?

Imagine now that you are an Empress. That you have a plethora of people wanting to service your residence. Every day there are people trying to ply you with their goods and services. Never ending, constant bombardment of sales pitches. How do you choose one from the other? Especially when the promises are enticing.

FITTING INTO YOUR IDENTITY AS AN EMPRESS IN NEW CLOTHES

Let us say that as an Empress you want a wardrobe of new kaftans to wear in the garden, or on your balcony, or for the beach, or at your chosen residence. Let us then say that you purchase some kaftans. All varying in colours, designs, lengths and size. One day you are wearing a brand new kaftan and some of the beading falls away from the fabric. It is a kaftan that makes you feel exceptionally regal. It is a kaftan that makes you look special. It is made by a well known designer name and you paid highly for it. You contact the designer for the kaftan to be repaired, but the designer states that her workshop is unable to do the repair work within the time frame that you ask for and, that the work has to be completed by a particular seamstress, so will be costly. What do you do? Wait for weeks for the repair to be made? Or, do you source someone else; someone new, that can re-apply the-beading for a reasonable price? How thrifty do you feel in order to get the repair completed?

Face Everything And RISE (RISE coaching for women) is the beading, the sequins, the colourful crystals that add to your lifestyle, in addition to being the silk, chiffon, satin or cotton that replaces a torn part of your kaftan, so that you do not feel naked, or too vulnerable, as you go about your business. Your business of life. Because your life is your business and your life wants you to show up.
