Review: Marc Jacobs – Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon

2018 has arrived, I really wish for the best things coming to you all, always stay happy and positive, dreamers! The last year was fascinating we could share lots of interesting things to embrace our gorgeousness everyday. I’m grateful for that and looking forward to exploring more makeup trends and products. So excited! To greet the new lucky year, Marc Jacobs Beauty has introduced a new lipstick line with a very revolutionary formula that I’ve never seen before. It tends to provide divine colors, more control, a stress-free application and luxurious long wear. Sounds epic, don’t be hesitate to dive in my review of Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Send Nudes and How Rouge.

I’ve just brought them home for over a week, these two are really amazing from the texture to the color payoff. Of course, I’m gonna walk us through details about this. Let’s figure out whether or not the story behind it is a fiction.

1. About the Product

The lipsticks deliver an ultra creamy, lightweight texture, like melting down into lips, incredible one-swipe pigment and bold impact. Exceptionally incorporate liquid and crayon lippies that we can’t help falling in love with. Formulated with Mica, a silicate mineral in order to create shimmering effect and dimensional shine rather than a dull, merely matte finish. Plus, the product contains silicone derivatives, Dimethicone and Caprylyl Methicone, to trap moisture and prevent dry, chapped looking lips.

To leave seamless, emollient feeling, it consists of Octyldodecanol, Synthetic Wax, Hydrogenated Styrene/Methyl Styrene/Indene Copolymer, Propylene Carbonate. These chemical compounds are conditioning, thickening, viscosity regulating, emulsifying, film-forming texture enhancing agents.

Furthermore, there are included Dicalcium Phosphate, Polyhydroxystearic Acid Disteardimonium Hectorite as filters. They bring about suspending, softening, buffering and stabilizing effects. Blended with Citric Acid (alpha hydroxy acid), Tocopherol (vitamin E) and Ascorbyl Palmitate (vitamin C) to maintain lips’ moisture retention, reduce the appearance of oxidative stress and fill in fine lines for a healthy, youthful look. Likewise, it contains Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate as stabilizer and antioxidant to preserve the product when exposing to external factors. The lipstick does have sweet fragrances, such as Glyceryl Stearate and Glyceryl Oleate.

Additionally, they promise to result in vibrant color payoff and stay in place for 16 hours. The products’ innovative formula helps to apply quickly and easily for everyone. Last but not least, their colorants are made of mineral pigments (Iron Oxides and Titanium Dioxide) and some synthetic dyes, such as Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Red 7 (Ci 15850) and Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090). The colorants with “lake” term are mostly produced from coal tar or petroleum

2. My Thoughts

At the first glance, the lipsticks look so interesting to me with crayon design that helps to precisely lay down the pigments and neat, perfect application. There is no need for the help of lip liner. Gotta admit this is awesome! Or, for extra definition, you can use lip brush to apply. Send Nudes is not really nude to me, the lipstick’s actual color is kinda deeper than I thought by looking at the graphic circle demonstrated on the plastic cover. It’s rather deep mauve or plum with a frosted finish that moderately reflects the light at certain angles, but also, you can find subtle matte in it. Otherwise, How Rouge provides noticeably vibrant, peppy red having a satin finish, the shade shows less shimmering effect than Send Nudes.

They are alluring to give the beautiful finish that you might not be able to find in normal liquified lipsticks. I adore liquid lipsticks which often deliver matte finish, but sometimes kinda boring. The Liquid Lip Crayon is like opening a whole new world to me, glamming me up with mild sheen. Literally adds dimension to my lips for lively, youthful look, but that isn’t overwhelming at all. I’m personally into How Rouge, the shade is more wearable for me in the day and night time.

Both tend to bring about full, opaque coverage and bold pouts. Send Nudes is prone to create dangerous bad girl look for night outs, whereas How Rouge is feminine and seductive. When applying, they’re indeed very creamy and soft. Irresistible everytime the lipsticks touch onto lips. Inclined to glide smoothly as well as fill effortlessly into my pout. The texture is so tempting, velvety and impeccable. It doesn’t cause any uncomfortably heavy, thick or lingering sensations. The products are highly pigmented without a doubt. These two seem to do great jobs.

However, you might have to wait for about 15 minutes or even more to let the lipstick completely dry down. Use the piece of tissue to blot away some clumps and excessive amount. Next, it could become transfer-proof. Genuinely blendable and buildable, you can press lips together once or twice to make the pigment spread out whilst applying. In contrast, doing that many times afterward can result in patchy, blotchy residues.

I tried applying the product in every morning during one week to hit a precise conclusion how well they work during my daily activities. The lipsticks are not really up to 16-hour-long wear, told in the description. Sorry, I gotta decline this. Initially, I was impressed about this, “For real?” Well, it’s possible, but I don’t want to get thirsty and hungry in order to save my lipstick for that long. Eating and drinking just slightly strip the lipstick away. It still looks stunning. However, meals with lots of oil and hot soup make it come off quickly. Anyway, I appreciate that the products are decent to stay in place for 5 to 7 hours. Then, definitely need to touch up throughout the day.

On the first two to three days of testing, I found the lipsticks pretty hydrating, they left a plump, supple look like dream. That was wonderful. But, later on, the product seemed to slightly settle in fine lines or cracks after a couple of hours. My lips recently turn to be pretty chapped after cleansing off. In fact, my pout tends to get dry and cracked when exposing to external factors. Regarding folk who often cope with chapped lips, you might find it dehydrated. To protect your lips from savage life, necessarily exfoliate and moisturize prior to applying. Speaking of the smell, it has a sweet, buttery-like scent.

Because of being too creamy, the lipstick is fragile and soft, so be careful when opening and closing the cap to avoid distorting its shape or smearing around. Also, gotta lighten the wrist while applying. I usually put the lipsticks in the fridge to preserve its firmness.

3. Packaging

The lipstick comes into the black plastic, crayon container with a graphic circle as the reference to the shade and black texts of Marc Jacobs. It’s portable, handy and tidy to perfectly fit into my hands to grab and bring about accurate application as well as take small space in my makeup bag. There is a twist part at the bottom to show some more amount of the product.

4. Rating 8/10

Overall, the product line is so striking, however there is only one red shade, How Rouge. I wish for more. Astoundingly, the brand provides an extra bold makeup with Blackquer, the deepest black for mysterious and dramatic look. I’ll give it 8 out of 10.

Hope the post is useful and informative enough about the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Send Nudes and How Rouge. If you have any questions or ideas, please feel free to be open with me. I’d love to hear you out. Thank you so much for joining me!
