I’ve been using an angled Brush to apply my gel eyeliner forever. In the spirit of switching things up and trying new things, I decided to try a different kind of brush.
Bdellium Tools Professional Makeup Brush Studio Line – Fine Point Eyeliner 706 (around $11) didn’t seem unreasonably priced, and I was already a fan of their mascara brush so the risk seemed minimal.
Perfect for flawless application
Luxuriously lacquered long wooden handles
Bristle Composition: 4/5 – The bristles in this brush are arranged in a manner that leads me to believe it won’t look like a mini witch’s broom any time soon. I did notice some stray strands, but they aren’t enough to make me worry about the longevity of this brush.
Ease of Application: 2/5 – I’ve used MAC gel paint pots for as long as I can remember as my go-to gel eyeliner. I was shocked when it applied in a slightly streaky line and needed to be reapplied multiple times to achieve a sharp-ish line.
Softness: 2/5 – The last thing I want in a brush is for it to be sharp around my eyes. And this brush was sharp. That, coupled with how it applied in a streaky mess had me wondering if it had been worth it, after all.
Brush Size: 5/5 – The size is comfortable enough for an eyeliner brush.
Final Thoughts: 3.25/5 – Unless there’s a learning curve that I’m not aware of by using this type of brush with gel eyeliner I’ve trusted for YEARS, I don’t think this will be my g0-to eyeliner brush.
