He announced earlier this week that he’s expecting his first child and Shayne Ward is also spilling the beans on all the Corrie gossip!

The singer, who plays Aidan Connor on the soap, revealed that his character will cheat on girlfriend Eva with her friend Maria.

After a fight with fiancé Luke, Maria and Aidan bond over their relationship woes and decide to share a few drinks.

However, things soon take a turn and the two end up having a one-night-stand.

Speaking this week, Ward revealed that there could be fireworks on the cobbles when Eva finds out the truth about their tryst.

“Aidan should stay indoors for the next few months! He’s trying to cover his tracks after sleeping with Maria, but it’s going to get heated. Eva knows something is up – and when she blows, she can be a bunny boiler,” he said.

“I’m having such a great laugh, and we can’t wait to find out how the viewers will react. Aidan’s really into Eva, even though he won’t admit it – but he realises there are certain qualities about Maria he likes, too. He just can’t go there!”

New producer Kate Oates has also opened up about the plot, revealing that the moment of passion spells the end for Maria’s engagement.

“Aidan regrets it but Maria doesn’t so much. She decides that if things were different, Aidan would be someone she was interested in, which is slightly inconvenient for poor Luke, who I think is the most tolerant man in Weatherfield.

“So Maria does the decent thing and ends it with him but this terrifies poor Aidan who is worried she might now come after him. He worries that he has slept with a crazy lady. Maria finds that mildly insulting, so what we see is a wedge there between her and Aidan.”
