This Is How To Find Your Personal Style – And Stick To It

The dream is to open your wardrobe each morning and absolutely love what you see. Well, it’s very possible, you just need to follow these quick steps.

First and foremost, you need to understand your Body Shape and how to dress it, and then you can find outfits that make you look and feel amazing.

After that, finding your own personal Style is as easy as following these steps.

Find your body shape

Once you have discovered your body shape, you can really start dressing for your shape. It’s so easy to figure out by just asking yourself three questions.

Another top tip is if you pay close attention to celebrities with similar shapes to you, then you’ll be able to spot the silhouettes that always work for them and implement that into your own Wardrobe.

Find your signature pieces

Most of our ultimate style icons have signatures that you can spot a mile off. This can be an accessory, a colour or a print, or even a beauty trick.

We love picking strong, key items that we can fill our wardrobe with. These are some of our favourites.

This is a seriously versatile dress to have in your wardrobe. This SS17 is all about bright florals overlayed on dark hues and we love this little number. It’s one of those ‘wear anywhere’ dresses.

Having a well fitted, tailored pant in your wardrobe will do wonders for your style cred. They’ll get you through a multitude of events and occasions and are so easy to style, just throw on a shirt or blouse.

A statement coat does exactly what it says on the tin, it makes a statement! Even if the rest of your outfit is understated, you’ll be sure to light up the room with this statement coat, all you have to do is throw it on.

Invest in items you’ll rewear

A successful signature style is one you will love for years, and so your focus should be on wearing the things you truly adore.

One of our favourite wardrobe-editing tricks is to invest in a separate rail and for one month place everything you wear on this rail—you will quickly realise the items that are the building blocks of your wardrobe.

Know what you don’t like

When editing your wardrobe, it’s just as important to pay attention to the items that don’t make you feel good – and get rid of them.

Find the colours that suit you

As well as finding the silhouettes that suit you, also think about colour. Follow our guide to figure out your skin tone and to find the perfect colours to match.

Pick your style icon

If you have a certain person in mind that is your ultimate style icon, you can always look to them for wardrobe inspiration. One of our many style icons is the always gorgeous Alexa Chung.

Clear out your wardrobe

The trick to really making your wardrobe work for you if making sure that it is clean and organised. We’ve given you some seriously helpful tips for doing an all over wardrobe audit, but it’s a great idea to just chuck the pieces you know you don’t like and don’t wear.

Don’t rule out a uniform

If skinny jeans, statement tees and flats works for you, don’t be afraid to make that your uniform. Same goes for if you think dresses, skirts, trousers or blouses work best for you. You can change it up with different patterns, styles and colours, but once you know what looks great on you, we say run with it.
