Everyday Makeup Routine

This is pretty much the only Makeup look I wear (mostly because I suck at makeup and can't afford any new products so it is super simple and easy).

Holika Holika Sweet Cotton BB Cream (2) //  Benefit Porefessional (1) // Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (4) // Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer (3)
I always prime my face first, and I've been trying to use up this sample of Benefit's porefessional (1). It's meant to blur the appearance of pores and create a smooth base for foundation or BB cream but it doesn't work miracles on me like other people have claimed. It does work as a nice base but I don't love it.

I then go in with my BB cream. I have been using this Holika Holika Sweet Cotton BB cream (2) for months now and I like it. It is lightweight and has a sheer coverage, which is perfect for summer/hot weather when you don't want anything cakey or thick on your face. The main downside is that it clings so badly to any dry patches, so if you have dry skin or any dry patches (like me), this probably won't be the BB cream for you. Those with oily skin will probably love it though as it helps to stop excess oil production. I would just rather a more moisturising BB cream. (Recommendations would be great!). To apply my BB cream/foundation I either use my fingers, or this sponge from ChiChi.

The concealer I use under my eyes (and a bit as a primer for my eyeshadow) is the very much loved Maybelline Age Rewind concealer  (3) (mine is in the light 'Brightener' shade). I currently don't have a concealer to cover blemishes, but I don't mind. There isn't much to say about this product really except that it does its job and highlights a little bit. Again I use the ChiChi sponge to blend it.

To set my face I use the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in 'peach glow' (4), focusing it on my t-zone where I mostly get oily. It doesn't keep me matte for a full day but I don't mind, and it works just fine (that wasn't meant to rhyme.....neither was that).
This is my second one of these so (after tragically dropping my first one and having it all crumble and turn to ashes RIP) so I must like it. Can I say though that I really hate the brush I have to use to apply it with (the medicare retractable kabuki brush) which sheds like crazy. Would not recommend to anyone ever. I really need to save for a better one.

I don't do much when it comes to my eye makeup. I keep it simple, using my NYX Dreamcatcher palette (5), taking the matte brown all over my lid to add colour. Sometimes I also use the rose gold-ish colour over my lid as well, depending what I feel like. I also like using the matte black shade with an angled brush to make a little wing if I'm feeling up to spending 3 hours on my eye make-up (I am so bad at eyeliner, I can only do it with an angled brush).

If I'm feeling super lazy though, or if I'm looking for something that will last a lot longer, I use this Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in.... (6) and just blend that all over the lid with my finger.

For my brows I just quickly fill them in a little bit with a Maybelline Master Brow palette in soft brown (7) (I'm pretty sure I need the dark brown one but hey, it was free)

The mascara that I've been using, and loving, has been the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (8). I try to use up mascaras before moving on to trying another, so I don't have multiple mascaras drying up and going to waste. I always feel bad if I don't use up my makeup.

My go-to lip combo for the past few months has been NYX's soft Matte lip cream in London (9), with NYX's buttergloss in Tiramisu (10) over the top. It is my favourite and perfect nude colour. I just wish I could wear matte lips but my lips get so dry it's gross so...the buttergloss is my best friend.

And that is literally all I do for makeup because I am not a makeup artist or beauty guru and honestly don't have the time/can't be bothered doing more! (also all the products with a red dot taped to them are ones I want to try and use up this year)

*** I should note that I am currently trying to transition to cruelty free makeup, and while most of these items are not cruelty free, I will continue to use them so they don't go to waste. I don't plan on repurchasing any non-cruelty free makeup.
