Marques' Almeida Spring 2017 Ready-To-Wear Highlights

I have to say that this collection was one of my favourites at LFW.  It was a perfect mix of feminine, punk and sporty, and will be a favourite for lovers of street Style. Inspiration was drawn from 'cool girls' Paulo Almeida and Marta Marques found on instagram, which is probably why the collection had so many different tones. Still, nothing seemed out of place, it flowed while having stand out pieces and I loved all of it.

Ok, first of all the boots. They are some of the coolest shoes I've ever seen and I need them in my wardrobe. Actually, I need all of the shoes in this collection because they are amazing and probably my favourite thing. I also absolutely love this first look, the William Morris patterned slip layered over a sporty t-shirt with red tulle sleeves....amazing.

That same pattern from the slip was used to create this amazing coat with a matching belt. With the red lace peeping out of the top and the rough edges, it's such a cool look. Oh, and the boots are fucking amazing, but you can all see that.

I am in love with this oversized, baggy pink biker jacket. Although it's pink, it toughens up the look. So does the holes and raw edges of this dress which is amazing. Again, the shoes, and these ones have a really interesting shape with the kind of ruffle fanning up at the front.

A fluffy lilac coat paired with silver metallic on silver metallic, how could you not love this? It's definitely a statement look, but I love it so much. Especially the ruffles on the top and how the pants are slightly flared. The giant Hoop Earrings are also a nice touch.

You all know by now how much I love denim, and while I personally wouldn't be able to pull off these pieces, they're super unique and I had to include them. Both the top and the pants are really interesting shapes, especially the bell bottoms of the pants that have fraying all around the bottom. I mentioned the hoop earrings above but you can see them better here.

I'm not 100% sure whether this is a dress or a playsuit but I'm going to go with dress, and it's beautiful. The contract of the black lace panels and the light pink silk is so pretty and gives it a more unique shape. I also love how they paired a feminine, delicate piece with green sneakers.

The pyjama trend is still going strong, and if you're a lover of comfort and stripes this look is for you. Personally, stripes are one of my favourite things ever and are so easy to style. As with most 'pyjama-like' sets, you can style the pieces separately so it doesn't look like you literally just rolled out of bed (if that isn't the style you're going for) and I think that's what I love about sets like this.

While this collection featured many references, they all worked so well together to create balanced, beautiful looks. It wasn't too feminine, punk, or sporty, it was just enough of each.
