Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation Review

As someone who isn’t very confident with their Skin a medium coverage to high coverage is what I tend to go for when foundations are involved. I’ve previously enjoyed several drugstore foundations but I often found that my Foundation faded throughout the day and I needed something that lasted a little longer so I jumped at an old Estee Lauder promotion which offered a bag of goodies including a sample of the Doublewear Foundation when you bought two products. I’ve nearly used up this sample bottle now and I have to say I’m impressed…

Estee Lauder’s Doublewear Foundation is currently the UK’s number 1 foundation and for good reason. Starting with the packaging it comes in this glass bottle without a pump. I know that a lot of people tend to complain about foundations without a pump but I don’t have a problem with this as I find that I only use what I absolutely need. The full size of this product is £31.00 placing it firmly in the bracket of high end foundations.

There’s a wide variety of shades ranging from different skintones and then undertones as well, as I’m quite pale but I have neutral undertones I was matched to the shade Bone which is the perfect match for my yellow toned skin. I did notice that this foundation does have a scent that smells almost like paint which is quite unusual but it’s nothing majorly digusting and the lack of fragrance means that this doesn’t affect my sensitive skin.

Onto the coverage and this i a full coverage foundation, this covers everything from blemishes to bags and provides you with an even skintone with a satin finish that I find very flattering on the skin. I do find that this is so high coverage that I never need to use concealer or powder over the top, it doesn’t look or feel cakey and it doesn’t weigh down the skin despite being such high coverage.

This works for my combination skin and is suitable for both oily and dry types, what I love about this is that it really is long lasting. I’ve tried a lot of foundations and this is the most long lasting foundation that I own. To apply, I simply pour a small amount of this onto my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and then gently buff it into the skin.

(Please note there is an Instagram filter on this photo but it’s the only photo I had of me wearing this)

Overall, I love this foundation, I always receive compliments when I wear it and it makes me look like I have perfect skin even if I don’t! I would repurchase this although I’ll most likely wait until the weather cools down a little bit and although it’s pricey if you like a higher coverage then I’d thoroughly recommend that you give this a try.

The Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation is available here for £31.00.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, have you tried any higher end foundations which ones would you recommend? Please let me know in the comments!
