The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel Review

So I’m way out with this review, I mean I’m not only super late with it BUT this is an autumn release and it’s erm…not autumn. Despite that, I actually feel like this is a great springtime product and the raspberry range is one that I see coming back to The Body Shop time and time again so it’s well worth a review.

I have the old packaging for The Body Shop shower gels but the packaging is simple yet functional. It’s a clear plastic bottle with a flip cap so you can easily see how much product you have left which is certianly nice! I couldn’t find a solid price for this online but this is a 250ml shower gel and other 250ml shower gels on the Body Shop’s website retail for £5.00 so I’d assume this is priced around the same mark.

The Body Shop describe their Early Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel as the following:
Unleash a burst of berry fragrance with our Early-Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel, enriched with cold-pressed oil and Community Trade honey from our partners in Ethiopia, the lather-rich formula gently cleanses skin and leaves it scented with a sweet berry fragrance.

  • Lather-rich shower gel.
  • Vibrant berry scent.
  • With cold-pressed raspberry oil.
  • Enriched with cold-pressed oil from raspberries and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, where local ‘bee whisperers’ ethically source the honey in a way that allows the hives to continue to thrive.

Starting with the scent of this, I really like this scent. One of my issues with the product fragrances at The Body Shop is that they are very synthetic. So the strawberry scent doesn’t smell properly like strawberry etc. The Almond range is a scent I find to be pretty similar to the real thing and although this Raspberry scent is slightly synthetic it doesn’t smell overly sweet and cheap, it’s actually delightfully fruity as well as have a slightly sweet undertone.

Onto the formula, this lathers up well and it certainly does a job of making my skin feel clean. I will however, say that I feel like The Body Shop need to step up the formula of their products a little. Don’t get me wrong this is a shower gel not a cream so that should be taken into account, but when I use alternative shower products such as the Nivea Cashmere Moments Shower Cream or a Lush Shower Cream my skin is much more moisturised. Again to reiterate this is a gel but in that case it would be nice to see The Body Shop infuse their shower gels with more moisturising ingredients.

I have tried other shower gels from the Body Shop and I’d definitely say that this is one of the nicer ones that I’ve tried. I also am enjoying the 250ml size, this has lasted me a good few weeks and I’m still not at the bottom of this so it lasts a long time compared to other shower gels which usually contain much less product.

Overall, I like this. It’s not the sort of product that has absolutely blown me away but it’s pleasant to use and it does the trick and the scent is lovely. If you are a fan of raspberries then keep an eye out for this range in the autumn time as it is wonderful.

The Body Shop Shower Gels are available from The Body Shop, prices start at £2.00.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, let me know in the comments if you are a fan of The Body Shop and if so, which products you love. I’ll admit I really wish we could get Bath and Body Works in the UK since I’ve heard nothing but fantastic reviews!

Thanks for reading.
