Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Almond Review

I’ve mentioned numerous times on my blog how much I love the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint range, the first one I ever tried was the shade Blueberry and since then I’ve tried so many of them! One I hadn’t tried was any of the nude shades, as someone who likes dark, or bright colours on my nails it’s rare you’ll see me wearing a pink or nude shade but I decided it was time to step out of my comfort zone and try something new, here’s my thoughts.

Like every other Barry M polish, this comes in the standard glass packaging with a brush. I actually like the see through glass as you can clearly see the colour of the polish. These polishes are pretty budget friendly at £3.99 per polish.

The product description is as follows:
Barry M Hi Shine Nail Paint provides an extra glossy finish in just one coat. Highly-pigmented, chip resistant formula. Gives a glossy, gel-like finish with a single coat.In a range of colour-pop hues.

The shade Almond is a taupe-like cool-toned nude shade so not my usual shade at all! I don’t usually like cool-toned nudes, Naked 2 palette for example made me look dead so I gave it away however, this polish shade actually works quite well on me.

The brush is just a standard brush really, it’s not one of those wide fan brushes and it’s not super thin either.

In terms of the formula of this is fantastic, two coats is enough for maximum opacity, the finish is a stunning glossy gel-like finish and this lasted a full week on my nails before it started to chip. The colour also surprised me with how nice and classic it looked and I got tons of compliments too. I should also add it was easy to remove and unlike a lot of polishes didn’t stain my nails.

I’m actually really impressed with this so it’s a pleasant surprise! I do want to try some more shades from this range, I don’t own a white so Cotton looks like a good shout, plus I’d like to get another Blueberry and Elderberry, Sugar Apple and Rose Hip look great for spring!

The Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Almond is available from Boots for £3.99.
