Belated February Favourites 2018

So I got set back with my blog posts but I’m catching up and I thought I’d share my February favourites with you – better late than never! February was a good month for finding some new products and some new lifestyle favourites so without further ado here they are!

Starting with beauty my first favourite of the month has been the Crabtree and Evelyn Pomegranate Hand Cream I’ll be honest I’m not a huge fan of pomegranates however, the added spices to this make it a warm and uplifting scent. The cold has made my hands sore but this has kept my hands soft and hydrated and the small mini size is perfect for on the go. Sticking with a moisture theme it’s hard for me to find a deodorant that doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin, does the job and keeps me feeling fresh without making my skin sore, this month I tried the Dove Invisible Dry Moisturising Cream Roll On Deodorant and it’s become another firm favourite, something small but it does the trick!

A nostalgic product is the Vaseline Rosy Lips I love the slight tint and my lips were so sore and chapped after the flu that this has helped get them back into shape, the almond oil in this in particular really seems to help. I always had a tin of Vaseline as a teenager and since my mum uses this it reminds me of my mum so much, love it!

I also have a couple of new discoveries this month, I was lucky enough to receive some Primark Unicorn Makeup Brushes as my Secret Santa this year and I love them, the ferrules are gorgeous and the brushes themselves are lovely and soft. Another favourite is the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Almond. I don’t typically wear neutrals on my nails either opting for brights or darks, I didn’t think this cool toned nude would suit me but actually it looks really nice and I kept staring at my nails. I love the Gelly Hi Shine range and this polish is lovely.

Onto some lifestyle favourites, I’ve liked Christina Grimmie for a while and like so many was horrified when I heard of her death. Her posthumous album All is Vanity was released by her family and I finally gave it a full listen and I love it. I don’t typically listen to pop music (I’m more rock and metal) but I love her vocals and her tunes are really catchy. Another music favourite is actually two youtubers known as the Brooklyn Duo, Patrick is a cellist and Marnie is a pianist and they do the most beautiful covers, they even have a go at drums and they’re covers and just unreal – plus it may sound daft but the way they look at each other just shows how much joy music and love can bring, truly wondrous to watch.

An experience this month was going to Piratefest in Leeds where I got to see Alestorm, Dreadcrew of Oddwood and Rumahoy. I did this whilst having the flu which hampered me somewhat but the show was amazing, I particularly appreciated the rubber duck on stage, Rumahoy running around the venue making pirate hook signs at fans and being clobbered round the head with foam swords when I went to the loo – seriously it was great fun.

Finally, I was gutted when I heard that Glamour was abolishing their print and going primarily online but I was pleased to see their first new print edition launch and it was an influencer and beauty special. The new paper makes the magazine feel extra luxurious, there were some nice samples inside plus lots and lots of beauty content – if you’re yet to read it pick it up!

That wraps up February, it’s been a busy month from being busy at work to being ill and getting ready to move. March is already shaping up into a fantastic month for me, I hope it turns out to be a great month for you all too!

Thanks for reading.
