Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer Review

It’s not often that I try new concealers and it’s definitely something I need to try more of. I do feel like concealers fall into two categories either the heavy duty ones or the ones that are better for the under eyes. I’m used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for a long time as my go-to but fancied a change and the Bourjois Radiance Reveal came highly recommended so here’s my thoughts.

The packaging is very minimalistic but I like it a lot. The main issue with the Colleciton one is how grubby it looks but I can safely say I’ve been carrying this in my back for around a month now and it still looks brand new. The silver lid with white writing plus the square tube is really cute, I like it a lot. This concealer is more pricey for the high street at £7.99.

The Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer is described as the following on the Boots website:

This light enhancing concealer conceals dark circles and imperfections whilst smoothing and hydrating for 24 hours. Apply using the wand applicator and blend with your fingers.

Starting with the shade range I’ll be honest it’s not very large. The pale shade is quite pale but by no means white. For me the shade is pale enough and it has yellow undertones which is great for me as my skin has yellow undertones and yellow counteracts dark circles.

In terms of application this comes with a short yet plush doe foot applicator which means that it’s easy to apply but works better for smaller areas, if you were to try and apply this over your entire face with a BB Cream you’d probably use a lot plus it would take a while so that’s something to bear in mind!

In terms of texture this isn’t what I expected, it has a very cooling scent and a refreshing sensation on the skin which means that this is great under the eyes. The texture is much runnier than I expected it also has quite a light coverage which is definitely different for me but I really like it.

Under the eyes this is really nice, the formula as the name would suggest, is quite radiant so rather than hiding my dark circles under a cakey layer this instead covers them but adds enough luminosity that they are diminished, it also looks much more natural and doesn’t fade in a patchy or cakey fashion even when layered which I love.

For blemishes this does cover them but the coverage doesn’t stick around and this doesn’t dry down to a matte or heavy duty finish so if you are looking for a concealer for blemishes then this isn’t one for you.

Staying powder is pretty decent under my eyes (though not as long lasting as some other concealers) this lasts most of the day with one or two small quick top ups, this doesn’t crease or sink into fine lines which I love, the only thing I would say is that this doesn’t blend well with a brush so be sure to apply and then blend with your fingers.

Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised I usually go for something heavier but this has made me realise that I don’t need to cake on concealer to hide my dark circles and that a lighter formula works much better for me, for that reason I think this will be my new go-to, I would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be repurchasing!

The Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer is available from Boots for £7.99.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button! Let me know in the comments if you have tried this or what concealers you think I should try next! I do have the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer unopened in my stash and I’m curious about the Makeup Revolution one that has garnered so much attention lately.

Thanks for reading!
