I love a good budget product and some of Seventeen’s products are pretty decent for a low cost. In the past I’ve used their Mirror Shine Lipsticks, Brow Kit and Stay Time Concealer all of which I liked, though I have had some duds (The Flawless Poreless Primer). I’d heard a lot of positive reviews about the Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit and so I decided to give it a try, here’s my thoughts.
 
Starting with the packaging I really like this, of course it attracts grubbiness and dirty super easily but the sleek design and minimalist black and white is reminiscent of higher brands such as Nars. Unlike Nars, this is much more affordable at only £4.99 – I have the lightest shade which is Fair.

As usual here’s a product description from Boots where this is an exclusive item:

Inside the contour kit we have two matte powders, a white highlighter and a deeper bronzing powder. I’ve applied them liberally to my hand here so you can get a good look at the tones. I do like how the white is quite icy but the bronzer is a little more orangey than expected.

When I swirl my brush into the pans I noticed that this was quite dusty. I’ve seen people calling this creamy and silky online but I have to disagree, it’s not the chalkiest of powders but it’s definitely not high quality which is a real shame!

Unfortunately I’m not a fan of either of these powders. I’m relatively pale so I’m extremely picky with bronzers as a lot of them can be too grey toned and look ashy or they can be far too warm toned or orangey – plus to be a pain I don’t like shimmer in my bronzers if possible.

Starting with the bronzer this is far too warm toned, I know it’s not my brushes as I don’t have a problem blending out other products but this is orange rather than brown and it doesn’t blend out at all so I end up with an orange line on my face.

The highlighter is just pointless as it isn’t discernible on the skin at all, even when I absolutely pack it on I just can’t detect it on my cheekbones. Other bloggers have used it as a setting powder for under the eyes or to bake but again I get a lot of fallout and with little payoff.

Overall, it’s a shame but I just don’t like this, I’m pretty disappointed as some of Seventeen’s products are absolutely on point but sadly this is just a dud. There’s not really much I can do to work this into my routine so I’ll be passing this on one. Personally I wouldn’t recommend this and I wouldn’t repurchase either, sorry Seventeen!
