Colab Dry Shampoo in Original Review

I love Dry Shampoo and anyone who knows me (or reads this blog) knows that I’ve used Batiste for an absolute age. But, Batiste brings the white cast issue to the table. I have tried other dry shampoos but never with the same results as Batiste, until of course I tried the original Colab dry shampoo…

From what I’ve gathered the packaging has been changed several times. The packaging I have here I actually really like, the white and black as well as the graffiti style is really cool. The price of Colab isn’t that bad either, £3.49 for 200ml is pretty decent I’d say – plus a little goes a really long way.

The description varies depending on the website, Boots’ description is pretty uninformative but here it is:

COLAB’s Original fragrance Dry Shampoo gives hair an instant wow-factor with a ‘Too cool for School’ vibe and an effortlessly cool, bergamot and rose scent. Slay All Day!

The description doesn’t give much so in a nutshell, this is a dry shampoo that claims to absorb oil without leaving white cast on the Hair.

Starting with the scent this is really nice, it doesn’t really smell like rose which I’m actually thankful for as I’m not a huge rose fan. Instead it has a sophisticated fruity floral scent which I really like.

The spray is easy to use, of course if you do spray too much too close to the head you will get some white cast but it’s nothing like other dry shampoos which leave a heavy white cast ont he hair. When I spray this onto my hair, I can see where the spray lands (based on the trajectory of the mist) and then I simply ruffle up my hair and I’m done!

I did previously try the Volume dry shampoo by Colab and I wasn’t impressed. That product left my hair feeling coarse and sticky whereas this is virtually undetectable, once I’ve put it into my hair and rubbed it in there’s no stickiness and dryness to my hair which I love.

Overall, I really like this. It’s easy to use, it does what it says on the tin (or in this case can!) It smells nice and it’s affordable, a lovely practical product from Ruth Crilly. I would repurchase and recommend this!

The Colab Dry Shampoo is available from Boots for £3.49 .
