I have to admit that when I think about lip products Max Factor isn’t a brand that springs to mind even when I think about high street –in fact Max Factor isn’t really a brand that I use that much for some reason so the Lipfinity Lipstick in Eternally Luscious was kind of an impulse purchase. It’s been a while since I reviewed a violet lipstick so here’s my thoughts.

Starting with the packaging I do like the slim tube and the gold is very nice but I hear a lot of people complain about the clear cap which I can understand as it will probably get grimy quickly. In terms of price these are high street prices at £8.99 per lipstick.

Onto the colour, Eternally Luscious is a vivid red-toned violet. Usually the purple lipsticks I get are very blue toned so this is a little different to the other shades in my collection (but still very beautiful). On the lips this does actually wear for a long time which is one of the main selling points to the Lipfinity lipsticks, I typically get a good few hours of wear out of these (although they’re not the most longwearing lipsticks in the world.)

I have to say the texture and formula of this lipstick yields mixed thoughts. This is fairly pigmented and on the hand the texture feels quite creamy with the lipstick gliding across the skin however, on the lips there’s a lot more drag. I think that the drag is what gives the lipstick it’s longevity but I’ve found that this shade tends to fade off of my lip line (leaving a stain) and then cling to any dryness creating an uneven finish which is incredibly annoying. Although these are not fully matte the finish is also semi-matte it’s comfortable to wear but doesn’t allow you to rub your lips together, I do feel that it’s less creamier than a lot of the lipsticks I’ve used yet it does offer a slight sheen.

Overall, this is okay I do feel that the formula and texture let’s this down a little bit and it is tricky to work with but I like the colour a lot. I don’t think I’d rush out to repurchase this and as for recommendations I’d just say do some research try the shade in store and only buy if you don’t mind a slightly drier lipstick.
