GOSH has to be one of my favourite brands from the high street, my favourite primer is made by them, I love their eyeliners and nail polishes so it only made sense for me to try one of their lipsticks. I’m pretty bold when it comes to trying new shades and colours and I noticed that I didn’t have much in terms of coral or Orange as I was afraid that they wouldn’t suit me, so I decided to be brave and try an orange lipstick, here’s my thoughts!
The GOSH Velvet Touch Lipsticks come ins this gunmetal weighty packaging which I think is really luxurious feeling and quite edgy. One thing I love about is that GOSH isn’t afraid to push the boundaries with innovation, colour and design and I do feel that this is reflected with the packaging. These lipsticks are very affordable at £6.99 per lipstick.
I’m going to start with the formula and this did really impress me, the Velvet Touch formula is incredibly creamy, it feels exactly the same as the MAC Cremesheen lipsticks if not creamier which is definitely a bonus. This felt very hydrating on the lips and surprisingly it didn’t bleed everywhere. I do think though that this would have been better as a matte finish, because once this faded, it faded unevenly leaving patches of colour on my lips, so do be mindful. This is high maintenance and will require topping up, unless you go for a lighter shade.
In terms of colour this really packs a punch! The formula is saturated with pigment so this shows up very bold which I think is a good thing. Orange is a shade that I’m not sure about so I’m glad that this shade leans towards the red side of orange rather than the yellow side.
I will admit that the flaw with this lipstick is the longevity, however, I do think that this could be rectified with a matte finish. If you do want something that feels very creamy on the lips though I would highly recommend these. Whilst I’m not sure that Flirty Orange works for me, I will definitely be trying other shades.
Overall this is quite a nice lipstick, I’m not sure if I can pull off the orange but I’d most likely use this in summer as it’s very bright! I do think that GOSH is a really underrated brand. I would try more shades from this range and I’d recommend it too, if this range is ringing a bell you might remember GOSH Darling which was a very popular lipstick from this range.
For some reason this isn’t on the Superdrug website (although I don’t think it’s discontinued), however, you can purchase the GOSH lipsticks here for £6.99.
I hope that you enjoyed this post and if you did please hit the like button, let me know in the comments if you have tried these lipsticks and what you think of GOSH as a brand!
