Pole Show LA 2018 Returns with a Bang!

Pole Show LA was held at the Avalon Hollywood this year on May 12th 2018. This show has become one of the most anticipated Pole events in the Los Angeles Pole community. It offers a big, beautiful stage with high end production value, worthy of both the local and traveling pole stars who performed at this year’s venue! However, it’s not just dancers who are well-known or ‘Pole Famous’ who are celebrated at this event. Pole Show LA also offers an amazing performance opportunity for pole students of all levels from any studio in the L.A. area. This show brings the best of the Pole Community together in a sexy, glittering display of talent and skill that will wow novice and expert spectators alike! This year’s event boasted performances by stars like Jenyne Butterfly, Jedda Jordan, Doris Arnold, Estefania Jimenez, Carly Child, Charlee Wagner, Rachele Ribera, Los Angeles based pole stars Nadia Sharif, Brynn Route, Brandon Grimm and Jordan Kensley, and of course owner of BeSpun and creator of Pole Show LA, Leigh Ann Riley.

The show began with an artistic piece that was built around a spoken word audio recording, accompanied by a beautiful, yet socially conscious background video. There was a lot of visual stimulation, but the real stars were the pole dancers who executed a huge group number, utilizing multiple poles and alternating between synchronized and base-flyer tricks in pairs or trios while wearing our very own Bad Kitty PoleFit®! This lyrical performance was both stylized and touching in its message about the environment and social change. Also in the lyrical style, Carly Child and Charlee Shae Wagner showed and emotional, intricate and masterful doubles routine that left the audience holding its breath. Another fantastic duo lit up the stage when Mistress of Ceremonies Leigh Ann Riley joined Australian pole star Jedda Jordan for a steamy doubles performance complete with a sexy joint ride on an aerial saddle!

Yet another standout performance was by Doris Arnold who did a retro 80’s inspired piece laced with the nostalgia of old 80’s teen movies and aerobics workout videos. Her tricks and moves were a great blend of sexy and athletic and the two hot, shirtless guys on stage with her didn’t hurt either! A super fun piece! Speaking of super fun performances, probably no piece was as much fun as Brandon Grimm’s “Chicken” piece. Yes, it absolutely was about chickens! The song was a catchy, energetic, dubby mashup that made you want to move in your seat, and the choreography was simultaneously clever, interesting and skillful. And those costumes had every woman in the audience suddenly wanting to be a chicken! This performance had everyone smiling, scratching their heads and wanting more. Jenyne Butterfly’s tribal-inspired piece also did not disappoint with stunning costumes, a sick song and stellar musicality, even by the back-up dancers!

Jordan Kensley brought the energy and all the hair in her Xtina homage to ‘Dirty’ complete with lots of sexy back-up dancers, tons of heel clacks and even a confetti cannon! But probably my most favorite performance of the entire night was the creepy, crawly yet still uber sexy doubles contortion piece by Nadia Sharif and Brynn Route. The costumes were beyond amazing and the choreography was mesmerizing, inventive and super creative. As always, these two performers will suck you in and then steal your heart and your soul!

You know you’ve had an good time and the show was well executed when you don’t want it to end and that was certainly the case with Pole Show LA 2018! The finale is almost as fantastic as the show itself, giving everyone a last moment to be alive on such a gorgeous stage, and always leaving the audience wanting more!
