PinUp Pole Show Takes Us Back to the Good Ol’ Days

I might be biased, but to me pole shows are one of the most entertaining ways to spend your night. There’s so much excitement, athleticism, glittery costumes, hot bodies…. I mean what more could you ask for? Living in LA we are lucky to have access to a nice variety of pole shows and much of the time the style of the shows are sexy, sexy and more sexy. PinUp Pole show gives us a sexy style that takes you right back into the 1950’s and 60’s.

It all starts in the Federal Bar parking lot in North Hollywood with a classic car show where guests are encouraged to bring their classic cars. Guests even receive a free drink at the show when they enter their classic cars into the show! Gals are also encouraged to dress in Pin Up attire and there is a contest for the best dressed. The night truly encompasses the feeling and charm of the Pin Up era and each performance lends it’s own part to the story.

Tonya Kay, who has a rich history in Hollywood as an actress and Broadway performer produces and stars in the show. She is also an avid classic car fan and owner herself. The show brings together “Classic cars, pinup girls, retro-burlesque and pole champions!” all in an intimate setting with a stage pole and a 16 foot pole in the middle of the audience. The show is ongoing and happens every month or so in several different locations including Long Beach and North Hollywood. Photos pictured here are from the February 25th show at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood. The show boasted a couple of brand new acts which the performers showed off with shining colors.

The NoHo show starts off with a comedy sketch featuring Tonya Kay, Candace Cane, and Heather Lou. After some tongue in cheek laughs the cast goes into a choreographed number with a classic pin up vibe. After the group number the performers have solo, small group acts, and duets. Monica Kay has a hilarious solo act playing a waitress on roller skates with zero coordination who spills her drinks on all of her customers. (The drinks are filled with glitter of course). In true pin up courtesy Monica takes off her skirt to help clean up the mess she has made.

Albeit her clumsy roller skating skills she manages to perform great feats once she’s on the pole

The next act takes a slight bondage detour with seductress Tiffany Rose Mocker who comes out in all leather and lace. She pulls an innocent man from the audience and blind folds him while performing a sexy lap and pole dance.

The show takes us through a variety of styles including a classic Hollywood glam piece by Tonya Kay where she strips off her gown and immerses herself into a bowl of water while dancing to “At Last” by Etta James.

Another highlight of the show was Candace Cane who performed a handstand on canes with platform heels on. She then moved on to the 16 foot pole where she wowed us with her pole tricks and flexibility.

The show also featured live singing by triple threat bomb shell Heather Lou.

One of the most exciting parts of the show was when Tonya Kay came out dancing as a car mechanic and ended up stripping her work uniform to reveal a metal plated bikini and grinding act that had the audience going crazy.

Overall the show was very entertaining. The Federal Bar venue makes for a great setting where guests can order food and cocktails while enjoying the lovely entertainment. The cast all came out at the end of the show to greet the audience and guests are welcome to stay for the after party.
