Mama Jewels Nursing Teething necklaces are recognised for our stylish and fashion forward designs and unique product range, but our primary concern is teething necklace safety.

Before we can start the design of any necklace, we ensure that the materials we are using are non-toxic, that they are constructed using strong durable materials and they can be washed. The stringing materials we used are tested up to 90N in line with EN71. We have also developed a knotting system ( known as ‘soft touch’) that ensures components will not come loose.

All of this is a very tall order and we make sure that the components we use are the same as components used to make children’s toys. Wood, silicone, plastics and acrylics, stainless steel and silver. We also use authentic natural Baltic amber, but only for necklaces worn by parents.

Mums with Teething Babies

Teething necklace and Nursing necklace safety: All of our Mama Jewels jewellery (with the exception of personalised silver and gold items) is baby-proof , which means that it is strength tested, Non toxic and can be washed.

We have separated our jewellery into Teething necklaces and Nursing necklaces simply because some parents are specifically looking for jewellery that is made from materials that have ‘GIVE’ in them such as silicone and wood and is perfect for teething. Nursing necklaces are generally made using a combination of wood and resin/acrylic and are not specifically made for teething but are still baby proof and are not harmful when a teething or nursing baby fiddles or chews on it

As our products are made using the same materials that are used to create Toys, namely, wood, plastics and silicone our products are suitable for babies to use as a teething tool whilst being worn by the parent.

Many of the best teething tools on the market combine a combination of hard and soft materials, perfect for relieving sore gums, irritation and providing something safe for your little one to play with.

We do try to keep our prices as low as possible, but we often use less commercial shapes and styles of wood, silicone, resin and acrylic that all needs to be checked for toxicity and durability.

Important SAFETY and design aspects

Mama Jewels Mummy proof Jewellery is designed to be worn by Mums, not children!

Our jewellery carries a 0-3 warning as there is a risk of small parts and strangulation if you were to leave your child unattended with your jewellery.

Our jewellery design has been tested by a UKAS Independent test house for compliance with BS EN 71. Part 1, 2 and 3.

On-going strength testing is carried out in house using a batch testing system where we batch test a number of necklaces each month or a when new consignment of materials are received, based upon a percentage of production. Records of this testing are available.
