Location: Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko
In late October my mother celebrates her birthday. This year we decided to treat her right and take her somewhere nice and quiet – to a place where we all can relax and have some family time. So, we packed our suitcases and headed to Bansko for a few days. There’s no better place to go in October than somewhere near the mountains. Everything is so colorful, peaceful and beautiful, especially on a sunny day.
When packing for a holiday, I always make sure my clothes are all in a matching tonality. Hence, they should always match the spirit of the place I’m visiting to help me get in a mood and feel good where I am. This time it wasn’t different. All my clothes were matching my favorite Autumn palette. And this only added value to my overall experience with the whole trip, which was fantastic as we did spend quality family time!
Speaking of which, as you might have noticed, we stayed at Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko. This is my first stay at a Kempinski Hotel. I had heard many praises about this one in particular and was very much into evaluating, so that I can later share with you and help you evaluate for yourself.
Kempinski is one of Europe’s oldest luxury hotel groups, and one can easily notice this by the vintage-style furnishing in the Grand Arena. Despite the fact it’s not my favorite type of interior style, it does feel very luxurious. In fact, at this place it is more than appropriate. It is much enjoyable. Rooms are very spacious, even though they lack enough sunlight most of the day. The super King size bed was unbelievably comfortable. Never enjoyed sleeping as much!
The hotel does have an excellent location and beautiful Autumn landscapes in front! The view over Pirin is so picturesque, and it’s even better when enjoyed inside the outdoor heated pool. When it comes to food, breakfast is very abundant, fresh and has many healthy options to choose from. Unfortunately, we do have many recommendations for the hotel’s restaurant – food was average and unremarkable compared to the pricing. But we enjoyed the Victoria Restaurant which is two steps away from the hotel.
Nevertheless, the one thing that made our experience excellent was the customer service. Very impressed with the attention we were all treated with. Everyone was kind and helpful to the maximum. They wanted to know the reason for our stay, and even surprised my mother with a delicious birthday cake. Most importantly, my mother was very happy. We all felt this was a proper five-star service.
So, if I had to say whether it is worthy visiting Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko in Autumn or not, I would say yes, it is. It’s picturesque, tranquil, and pricing is much reasonable. Yet, I’m unsure if I’d ever choose to stay there in a high season.
