Merry Christmas! Joyeux Noël (guess who’s been practicing French?)! I’m excited to show off this gorgeous olive trench my boyfriend bought me at Halmoni, the finest vintage store in Oakland. Owned and operated by Natasha Harden, Halmoni is a comfy, body positive shop adjacent to Lake Merritt that sells vintage clothing and accessories for women - every item in the store is carefully selected by Natasha and she always includes plus sizes. Take a minute to read about her clothing swap, Fattyland, and visit her Facebook page to learn more about all the amazing projects she curates. Or visit Halmoni if you live in the Bay Area! She is a serious force of nature with excellent style and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Along with the trench, I’m wearing a consigned Yohji Yamamoto turtleneck, a vintage mink collar from Mars Vintage, disco pants (similar), consigned Prada leather ankle boots, leather gloves (real leather and touchscreen compatible), enormous gold hoop earrings (similar), and Bite Beauty’s matte lip creme in Coulis (part of their Best Bite Rewind holiday collection - $25 for four colors). Don’t worry about the mom hair! By the time you read this, I will have cut it. These pictures were taken by Kristopher up at the Mormon Temple in Oakland.
I’m super excited to confirm that I got a 4.0 this semester AND that I’ve been selected to be a stylist in the Celebrate Your Body runway next year! You’re all invited! More details to follow as they are announced.
