Kikki K Textured Personal Planner Medium Ocean Review

Hello, lovelies~ Boy, am I excited to share this review with you. I have been waiting for this Planner to reach my hands safely and now it's here! I didn't review it immediately (of course) as I have a habit of trying out things to really understand the product before sharing my thoughts with you. Hence, the long time before each post, lol.

The planner I am reviewing in this post comes from the infamous Kikki K named Ocean. The colour does depict the shade of the ocean, sort of, with the hint of green in the blue shade. There is a gold foil Kikki K logo on the back of the planner.

What gets me to buy the planner is the addition of the gold foil dots on that beautiful blue textured Saffiano leather. I know the gold foil is going to fade overtime, but hey, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

There was another version before this one came out. It had a strap closure that is similar with the current teal color . I am not a fan of strap closures, so I didn't get that one. Luckily, Kikki K decided to make a snap closure version of this lovely textured leather.

Unfortunately, the pockets were a huge miss for my preference. I  liked the old Kikki K pockets because I can store more things in it. This planner only has one slit for pocket and another for notepads.

It does have a zipper on the side with a pocket behind it,. As much as I love the pocket behind the zipper, it's just a bit inconvenient going back and forth to get things from there. However, I do love the zipper compartment on the front. It feels safe knowing that my stuff won't get scattered in my bag when I travel with this planner.

The rings on this or any Kikki K planner is (probably) the largest  compared to others, but don't quote me on that. Not only is it huge, it is also gold. I'm not usually into large rings, but I fell in love with the shade so much that it doesn't bother me as much. Thankfully, the rings were in perfect condition being tight without any gaps whatsoever.

The inside lining is from the same leather, but without the gold dots. There is a slot on the back for bigger notepads. On the side is a pen loop that is elastic, so my chunky pens (I'm looking at you, Unistyle Fit) can fit there easily.

Kikki K Ocean is a personal planner, so there is quite a lot of note paper along with an undated monthly calendar. I get three sheets of stickers that is useful for personalizing the tabs because sometimes I just don't feel like making dividers. I didn't do an unboxing for Ocean, but the Perforated Peach has the same inserts, you can see the video here.

It lays flat within a day or two out of the box, you know, not much training needed. Maybe because I have loads of paper inside, so it naturally 'trains' itself within that time period.

I'm not sure if it has to do with the size of the large rings, but sometimes the paper catches on it, making page flipping not as smooth. Another thing that kinda bothers me is the necessity of tucking the back pages before completely closing the planner. Should I forgot about it, it would fold the back pages.

I have tried using a thick scrapbook paper 160 gsm that has been laminated, hoping to solve this problem. Yet, it doesn't. Maybe I should try laminating a 220 gsm paper to put back there. #braindump. Or maybe it's because of the slightly oval shape of the rings that makes the back paper caught when it's folden. #thinkingoutloud

Overall, I enjoy using this planner for personal and blogging because it fits a lot of stuff inside. The paper does catch on the rings sometimes, but nothing to fuss about for me. The beautiful shade of blue is always a pleasure to see. The Saffiano leather is durable so far because I've scratched it a couple of times and it didn't leave a mark.

Do you have this planner or any intentions of buying it? Let me know in the comments below what your thoughts are about it. Also, if you have a solution for the back paper, do let me know. Thanks for reading and until then, I'll see you later~
