Receiving an invitation to the #MurderOnThePoshFloor event certainly strikes a few questions when you see it sitting in your email box. But it also sparks an interest so it comes as no surprise that...well, a few weeks later I found myself dining with some of the best bloggers in Leeds, solving a murder mystery that we all witnessed first hand. But first things first.
The creative idea of this event was outstanding. Posh flooring does...well, floors! Hence the murder on the posh floor. How bloody fabulous! It was a brilliant idea and to top it off my colleague at work even mentioned that the hashtag #MurderOnThePoshFloor was "trending" on twitter throughout the evening! Result!
When going to any event, especially the bloggers ones, we are all trying to scrub up nicely. Especially us girls, swapping our comfies, onesies and pajamas for something more sophisticated, elegant and grown up. Picking an attire of any sort to any bloggers events puts pressure any of us, especially if you preach about fashion and personal style. Now dress code "Dress To Impress", the pressure was on and we all felt it.
I decided to spice up my little black dress from LaRedoute, and just before the event I'd taken these fabulous pictures for my Outfit Post: The Girl in the Dress and the Graffiti Wall.
Please do read the story behind taking these as it's hilariously scary.
Upon our arrival we were welcomed by a glass of bubbly and got to mingle with the most influential crowd of Yorkshire bloggers (hey there, I'm looking at you!)Once we sat down at the table, the most terrific and unbelievable thing happened. A door flew opened and a man staggered into the room. There was clearly something wrong with him and soon enough he dropped onto the "posh floor", dead! Yes, the same posh floor we were on, hoping to dine!
Oh the horror! The unimaginable happened right in front of our eyes...that man spoiled our dinner!
Fed up (and hungry) as we were, we took it upon ourselves and decided to solve this murder mystery. We will find the one who did and we will punish him / or her.
Yes, that's right. Never cross hungry girls!
Soon enough Sherlock Holmes himself and a policeman walked into the room, our hopes of solving this mystery suddenly rose, only to be...put right down.
We discovered that the ability of those two to solve any kind of mystery was as real as me dancing with aliens and drinking sambuka on that same night.
Our new celebrity!
Good job we had the skills to uncover finger prints!
Holding the most important clue...it's getting warmer!
As you might recognise from my bitter tone, our team "did not win". However given the lack of expertise of this so called Sherlock Holmes (who had to count of bunch of giggly
All jokes aside, actors (from MurderMysteryCompany) were absolutely brilliant and made the whole event even more enjoyable. It seems PR personas are trying to beat each other in terms of who organises a better event. Which is a welcomed change up here in the North, as we've been overlooked for some time now. Not long ago I attended LaRedoute bloggers party and along with this one, were the ones I will certainly remember in years to come!
I'm on it...in style.
Some of us even got to re-create the whole event.
Thank you Jennie (SearchLaboratory) and Posh Flooring for organising such a fab even. Once I finally get a chance to redo my home, I'll certainly remember you when it comes to laying down some of my flooring! To find out more about the event, follow the #MurderOnThePoshFloor hashtag for all the gossip. If you fancy a read, the Posh Flooring blogged about the event as well!
