Outfit Post: Fifties Inspired Party Dress

Dressing for a party season can be a bit of a pain in the bottom, don't you think? All these high street shops are full of the latest party season trends and to be quite frank, it's so easy to get lost and overwhelmed. To me, shopping for the right party dress does very often resemble searching for the needle in the haze.

What style do I pick? What colour and what fashion trend and what style? Any normal year it would feel like deciphering Morse code. This year, however, it was a bit different. I had a clear image in my head and I was determined to find the party style that suits my body as well as my personality.

In today's outfit post I'm wearing a party dress I ordered from House of Fraser, specifically from Chi Chi London. There is no doubt that this feminine and flirty strappy fit and flare midi dress is the star of this post. I've fallen for its elegance as well as playfulness.

This party season I decided to take things up a notch, and I went for the fifties look. This striking camisole strap prom dress with mesh underskirt certainly has a modern twist on vintage styling.

I was going for a minimalistic but sophisticated approach to festive sparkle but most of all I felt in love with this dress for its feminine style. And whilst I don't tend to follow latest fashion trends, it seems to be a lucky coincidence that 50s and 60s style is back, just in time for this party season, don't you think?

The fifties still provides me with an endless source of inspiration, and I just can't stop adoring those women from fifties, timelessly elegant and understatedly glamorous.

What's the secret to look good this party season? Confidence!

Having confidence gives you elegance. Celebrate your uniqueness instead of comparing your flaws with someone else's perfection. Like I said, I will never follow trends and I came to terms with it. It's just not my style and will never suit me. Instead I decided to adapt fashion trends to my style. And it works.

Finding the perfect party dress is all about finding your own  identity and dressing for you and who you truly are.

I know, you're right. It's not all about confidence though. Good fitting and tailoring is my second best friend. Otherwise how am I meant to feel confident when the dress doesn't fit? We're under enough pressure as it is, and this is the main reason I try to shop for good quality garments that are timeless but also well fitted. To me, the cut is really important. That's why I like to shop at House of Fraser for their excellent party dress selection. I just like to have all these brands together when I online shop! What about you?

Whatever you’re putting on your body, try to understand why you’re doing it. Does it fit your figure, or is it your style? Do you feel comfortable? If you've answered YES to all, then you've found your style and your perfect party dress! If not, don't give up and keep looking, the range out there is never ending!

There is no single blanket statement that can be applied without exception—there's a time and place for everything. I would like to believe that my signature style is all about elegance, glamour and style.

So don't stay at home this party season, chin up, smile and go out there! Start celebrating your life and enjoy being a woman.
