Invariably some of the best things get missed out from this blog because they quickly become a natural part of my life that I forget they are “new” and deserve to be introduced. The day I held Guerlain Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum in my hands, I was blown away by the luxurious massager head. And when I finally tried it on my eyes, it was immediately clear to me that no other eye massager in the market was ever going to be good enough anymore. Since then I’ve used this daily, and now that I’m down to the last drops, I figured it was high time to report back!
Guerlain’s Abeille Royale skincare collection is developed around the natural healing powers of bee extracts. The products in this exceptional line are formulated using royal jelly that is exclusively produced for Guerlain in France with 100% natural origins; and pure honey produced by the Black Bees of Ushant, one of the purest ecosystems left in the world.
Guerlain Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum is a lightweight fluid that comes in a handy squeeze tube with a rounded gold massager head. The serum combines the power of Guerlain Royal Jelly with Ouessant Honey to boost skin’s natural self-repair function, to combat micro-damage in the dermis caused by mechanical and environmental stresses in our daily lives that will inevitably lead to wrinkles and crow’s feet. In addition, Guerlain has added 2 plant extracts to prevent skin from thinning over time. Siegesbeckia orientalis extract increases elastin and collagen synthesis, thereby reinforces the tissue in the eye contour area. Albizia julibrissin extract is a good source of antioxidants, and prevents loss of radiance and suppleness.
What sets Guerlain Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum apart is the unique 22-carat gold massager built into the tip of the product. Much larger than most other eye “roller”-types of eye products, the Guerlain Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum massager has been specially designed to be used in an exclusive Guerlain BeautyLift massage.
To use, first squeeze out a tiny pearl size of serum onto the tip, then place a finger behind the massager and gently dab under the eye to spread the serum evenly. Thereafter, sweep the massager across the eye contour from the inner corner towards the temples following the arch of the brow bone. The perfectly rounded shape and heft of this massager glides over the serum and feels wonderfully comfortable! It is also ideal for pressing at pressure points to relieve puffiness. Here is the complete step-by-step guide from Guerlain:
I must confess that I don’t follow all the steps every single day, but even just sweeping the massager around my eye contour and pressing on 3-4 pressure points helped reduce my puffy eye bags and feel so relaxing I can literally see the lines easing away! The 22-carat gold tip also feels cool against my skin and helps wake me up. It takes a little bit of experimenting to figure out the right amount of serum to squeeze out, as the massager will drag if there is not enough serum to act as a lubricant! The good thing is that once the serum has been squeezed out, it doesn’t have a tendency to get sucked back into the tube once you lift your fingers off.
The serum is lightweight and does not leave any oiliness on my eye area, so I can use it in the day time under my makeup without fear of my eye makeup slipping off. I’m generally worried such lightly textured products will not keep my eye area moisturised throughout my long days, but this Guerlain Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum really surprised me! It keeps the lines at bay, giving my eye area a smoother and more lifted look. Truly, I’m spoilt and irrevocably hooked now. If you are looking for some eye pampering, definitely give this one a try!
